It's easy to do in the truck, I totally get it. But that's going to be a *huge* impact to your mileage. Hell, going from 65-67mph on the highway instead of >72mph has a 3-5mpg impact to me pretty consistently.
Me too.

The problem is I live in LA and there are soooo many times smoking the douche trying to pass me in the on ramp shoulder just feels sooooo good. There are also a lot of Tacoma drivers… and you know how that is. I’m not a challenging driver, but I’m always up to the challenge…

maybe this new attempt at highest MpG will be good for my psyche!

I feel you! We moved from LB to OC (just at the base of Santiago) in 2020, the drivers out here are just as bad, except they're also rich to boot. I feel you, the truck is fast and it makes it fun, but it also makes it expensive!

have you done the performance tune? It’s really not good in terms of fueling the fire…

Nope. Just like in the '15 EB Mustang I had, I avoided tunes because of the extended warranty I got. I didn't want any issues with getting powertrain warranty coverage if there were issues, and since both that Mustang and this Ranger are the "first year" of that particular powertrain combo, I want to be safe. I keep thinking about at least the FP Tune though...

Man alive how is that possible??
Watching your speed, and good conditions.

I got this on my way to Vegas doing 75-80 with a good tailwind:

Then got this on my way home with the headwind and the Rebel on the back:

yes I got the FP tune because Ford honors the warranty if you get it done at a authorized service center.

They don't though. There's a gotcha in there.

For the Ford Performance tune, they actually provide you with *their own* 3/36k warranty (from factory) that covers your powertrain. After that you're on your own to fight with Ford for the remainder of the 5/60k powertrain warranty from the factory (or more if you have an extended).

I did a lot of research before opting to pass in the car, and then the truck. If there was better warranty coverage I wouldn't even hesitate.
