Hey guys, Love my 2020 Ranger 4X4 Lariat. 63K miles and absolutely zero issues. But with fuel prices sky-rocketing, I'm wondering if anything can be done about my 19 - 20 m.p.g. unloaded, and 15 - 16 m.p.g. loaded (usually pulling f/b trailer w/ 500 lb m/c, total being approx'ly 1300 lbs.) fuel mileage..? Is there a CPU enhancement that might reduce power and yield better m.p.g...? I don't necessarily need 270 H.P. as I so rarely ever gas it hard... [[ Note: I do have a Leer cab height camper shell with a pretty slim Maggiolina Extreme pop up camper top above it ]] Any thoughts...??

Mod your right foot. I drive like an idiot on heavy 33"s and get 19-20mpg all day. Removing that RTT would probably help too.

Your canopy, rack, and RTT are definitely an issue - not just because of the poor aero dynamics, but the extra weight. All together, they might be as much as 300 lbs.

You could always trade that m/c for a skaeboard. ?

Have a lot of those in Fisherville, do ya? ?

Being in Toronto, I’m not sure what’s worse, raccoons, squirrels, or those. ?

Not many here, but in Harrisonburg, 25 miles north, hundreds of em, rentals, at or near the James Madison University campus.
30 miles east in Charlottesville, the same at University of Virginia campus.
Their parked all over at designated areas...you take one, ride it, and leave it at another designated area.

I think the Toronto harbour will soon be littered with several of these.

I bought the Mishimoto intercooler charge pipes and wound up installing the cold side (past the cooler) pipe first and drove about a week with just that before switching out the other side.

Power felt way down but my avg MPG's shot way up.

Once the other pipe was replaced the power seemed what it was previously and gas mileage went back to 'normal.'

I get grumpy if I average less than 23mpg.

In wintertime, my average is usually around 22 or so. In summertime, my average is commonly 25 or better. For long highway road trips, I've almost hit 30mpg (by long road trips, I'm specifically referring to 2 trips I did from WNC to well into FL and back last summer. down the mtns, and then back up them).

Stock tires and engine config. But with 2 passengers, a rack over the bed, and some luggage back there.

One info gauge I NEVER look at is the mpg. I drive it till the fuel gauge reads 1/3 to 1/4 and then I fill up.
As far as I'm concerned, trying to eek out another mile or two by obsessing over my driving habits, the load I'm carrying, the trailer I'm towing, isn't worth the aggravation.
I enjoy my Ranger, I drive my Ranger, and it is just "the cost of doing business".

Retired for now!
I averaged today doing 54 MPH, cruise control set, about 26 to 27 MPG. I take off real slow, coast to stops, watch others pass me in a hurry to pay more money at the gas pump. Not sure about the OP, but if you take it real easy, your gas mileage will improve. Seems no one can slow down these days though. And check your tire pressure. I run 40 PSI in my tires and it helps, rather than under inflated tires. And the window sticker said 19-19-19 for my Tremor. That is not even close if you drive easy!

Reduce weight and drag an left foot. Maybe bump air pressure up in the tires 2 or 3 pounds but that could end up shortening tire life an wiping out any savings if it makes any.
