Yes with Forscan you need to register on the website. It takes a few days but you can get the two month code to unlock all the features. I got the lifetime license myself. It’s worth every cent. Use it on all my kids cars too.
There's a lifetime option?

I just saw and got the three year, wouldve sprung for the lifetime if I saw it!

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I didn't worry about saving the asbuilt data as I only made 6 changes, and kept a log of original and changed value. I did download the original asbuilt files from Ford linked to my VIN.

I used a friends laptop and never got the as built file. Where can I snag this?

Be careful when using Forscan without a full understanding of what you are doing . Watch plenty of videos and do not click anything if you are questioning what you are doing .

What is the meaning of "As Built". In the video he modifies one module without "As Built" and another one with it. Does it matter? Some modules have both.

So the new 22 Tremor arrived and I wanted to make some changes. A few items I looked at were already the way I wanted, so that was a surprise. For example, the fake engine noise was disabled by default.

ANC was disabled, though, and I wanted to see if this made a difference in the cab. I enabled ANC, but now the "doo doo doo" chime comes out of the instrument cluster rather than the audio speakers. I changed this back, but the chime still comes through the cluster. I didn't think the auto noise cancel had anything to do with the chimes... I'm confused now.

Before doing any of this, I loaded the AS BUILT data and saved it on my local drive. After the chime change I went to restore it, but it said no changes were made (basically no difference between the saved file on computer and the AS BUILT in forscan). How do I get the chimes to go back through audio system?

Did I break it?

I thought I was being good and backed things up, making one change at a time, etc, but the most dangerous actions come from when you think you know what you're doing, but really don't!

On another note, when looking at the IPC Module Config AS BUILT format, there are only 22 lines that can be changed (with hex). But looking at the regular IPC Module config there's a TON of items to choose from. I thought these two menus matched, i.e. making a change to the Mod config does the hex changes for you so you don't have to get into the code. Does this just mean there are more options in a module than are able to be modified with hex?

Anyway, I thought I looked before I leaped...

Any ideas?

Thanks!
JJ

Sounds like you changed the value but failed to click the "Write" tab when you tried to change it back to the factory setting .

When looking at the module AS BUILT and the module Configuration, there will always be more selections in the Configuration than lines in the AS BUILT. This is because each of the lines of HEX code controls more than one option. It is actually quite a complicated system. That is why the programers of Forscan developed the Configuration menus to simplify making changes.

Thank you! That makes sense.

I've been reading other forums and it seems that the chimes going through the cluster can also happen intermittently, sometimes depending on battery level. I'll go in and take another look. Maybe it was coincidence that it happened when I made the changes.

Thanks Big Blue!!

Hey guys I finally got my adapter cable and made a few changes, I have few questions about some things I didn’t see or don’t know where to look, on auto high beam, the lights go to high beam at a certain mph, and when slowing down it looks like they go back to low beam at around 30ish mph, is there a setting to make them stay on high until a lower mph? My other trucks would dim at about 15 mph, I wish this one would do the same! And one more question, is there a setting for when I’m using steering wheel buttons for my preset radio stations that when I scroll through the 6th one, that will make it go to the next row of stations and back? I know if I hit the middle music button it will go to the next row but I have to swipe the screen to get back to the previous row! Thanks in advance for any replies!

that *might* be a glitch of some sort. my auto high beams do not change in relation to speed at all that i know of. just other things the truck thinks is head lights etc. you may also want to check out the threads on forescan stuff, someone else may already have dealt with the same issue.

From the owner’s manual on my 2020 XLT:
Once the system is active, the high beams turn on if:
• The ambient light level is low enough.
• There is no traffic in front of your vehicle.
• The vehicle speed is greater than approximately 32 mph (51 km/h).
The system turns the high beams off if:
• The ambient light level is high enough that high beams are not required.
• The system detects an approaching vehicle's headlamps or tail lamps.
• The vehicle speed falls below approximately 27 mph (44 km/h).
• The system detects severe rain, snow
