Don't worry Frank I'm sure they'll make a YouTube video and I'll be sure to let you know. ?
I appreciate that, you are faster than my youtube alerts or you know the people I work with that make the videos

The lack of hood struts is a probably a supply chain issue first and foremost. They are basically zeroed out everywhere, and ford likely had to decide of the want to hold shipments to wait for them. My 2022 still has the stunt mount points, so unless they’re were using up some 2021 hoods before removing the mounts, they should be there. Has someone (OP?) received a truck without them or was that speculation.

the struts themselves are easily aftermarket if you know length and the weight that needs to be supported.

Been monitoring "waiting on my 22 ranger" feed, and it appears that FORD, has finally gone through the mounts themselves now. So people taking delivery now are seeing no mounting points welded on. Not the end of the world, but if one was expecting hood struts, it's a bit disappointing, but considering the supply/chip/whatever issues...it's "acceptable"...at least IMHO. Just thought that since the tailgate received an aftermarket mod, why not the front/hood? Like someone posted, make it a strut package deal and get both areas covered?? Opportunity is there, and demand will only increase the more trucks roll out.

EDIT: No we can start another thread if you are a true truck owner without struts not only on the tailgate...but also the hood. :muscle::muscle::muscle::muscle:

I’m wondering if going from aluminum hoods to steel ones if the struts they were using for the aluminum had enough muscle to do the job keeping it open…
As far as I know the hoods are still aluminum. It's only the front fenders that changed from aluminum to steel. Ford has been using aluminum hoods on all of their vehicles for years.

I stumbled on this thread.

My 2022 appears to have the ball end mounts present. Does this look like the mounts for the pre-2022 struts?

Does this mean all I need are struts from earlier models?

Sorry for being such a Ford newbie.

Yes, you can just order the struts and pop them right on the mounts. :like:

Cool, I feel very special.

Although truth be told, the Jeep has the exact same kind of prop rod, so reaching for it is kind of natural, primitive, but natural... :)

I feel the same about the prop rod. I do love the struts but having the prop rod on my Jeep wasn't a big deal. Even when wiring up my lights it never got in the way. At least the mounts are there so if you want to add them it'll be easy. Now you can take that money and spend it on something else. ?

Maybe Ford is planning on going Retro/Nostalgic on the Ranger at some point. Like this '31 Model A Hoop Prop. The owner even labeled it so it would not be confused for use with the other vehicles - or used for kindling. Or the woodworkers thread could make some custom ones and sell them to the 2022 owners...
