grab handle noise and flex

so my 2021 with 11,000 miles. i recently had a large passenger who decided to use the grab handle as a place to help them get into the truck-numerous times throughout the day. well, i saw that it flexed as he got in and was pulling on it. he's about 300 lbs. with that said, i was cleaning around that area recently and noticed that it does flex some when you pull on it AND there is a crinkly type of nosie from it- above it like in roof. I have never checked/noticed this before.

so, is this just how they are on the rangers? or, did my large friend damage something that now needs fixed?

My girlfriend uses the grab handle all the time and mine has no noise at all. But she's far from 300lbs. lol As far as flex goes yes there is a little side to side movement.

Mine has the flex too, the handle that is. I dont remeber it when it was new. So eventually, hopefully soon, ill make sure it hasnt somehow worked its way loose
Screws or bolts under these covers on the handle. Use a proper tool to remove them. Or something plasticy as to not damage the handle or mar it.

Handle itself could be a little loose. Maybe needs torqued down.

what's the best way to remove the little trim caps? haven't tried a trim tool yet but it seems too narrow to get one in? not wanting to try a screw driver yet and mar it up.

plastic (or coated) pic set is perfect. Still use care though.
