Hi Everyone - I have just joined this forum, but I have been following it for a long time. It was the main place I researched before I bought my 2020 Lightning Blue Ranger Lariat with the FX4 package back in November. I love the truck and all the valuable information that this forum has provided, so thank you to all of you!
I am hoping some of you can help out with a noise that I am hearing coming from the truck. It happens sporadically while accelerating and braking/slowing down. It seems to only happen below 10 mph. While sometimes the noise will not occur, I have had a few times while driving (usually after I have been driving for more than 30 minutes) where the noise will happen very frequently, happening every time the vehicle slows down. So much so to where my girlfriend and mom have noticed the noise, and asked about it. It sounds like a 'whomp' noise coming from the front of the truck. I have so far only managed to capture it happening sporadically on a couple of recordings (attached), but I plan to document that next time I hear it when I am on a longer drive and it is happening constantly.
I did take the truck in yesterday to a Ford dealer here in Denver, and as I suspected they could not replicate the issue or notice anything out of the ordinary when inspecting the truck. They did point me in the direction of the TSB SSM 48690 (which seems to be the same as TSB SSM 47812 - 2019 Ranger – 10R80 - Whine Noise), but I do not think this is the same kind of noise.
I understand I might be grasping at straws here, but for a truck with 2,300 miles on it the sound just doesn't sound right. As I mentioned, I will hopefully provide more information or proof of the noise the next time it happens, but in the meantime I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction (or just tell me I'm hearing things).
Noise begins around 3 seconds in both recordings. You might have to turn it up to hear them.
