I guess I don't get what the big deal is with switching to the aluminum fenders? You do realize that aluminium corrodes, just in different ways. Once you get a chip, over time it'll start jacking the paint off. There's so much other steel that'll rust that the fenders aren't a big deal. If you're in a corrosive region, look into getting it Fluid Filmed.
They switched FROM aluminum to steel. Personally, I couldn't care less what my fenders are made of. Like someone else said, the weight difference is going to be very negligible in the grand scheme of things.

It's not a big deal, but it's still a feature change to cut cost so it belongs on this list.

Not sure yet
No, it was a little breezy so it got a blow dry. Clean engines are much easier to work on.
And I know some are squeamish about getting the engine wet but I've been doing that forever. I'm not using a pressure washer or even full pressure out of the tap, not soaking it, just a shower to rinse the dust and splattered mud. Only cars I ever had issues with were when they had old plug wires and that was resolved with wd40. :like:
Same here. Detailed vehicles a long time, no issues. Old school vehicles with distributors ALWAYS needed an extra drying, but new stuff is sealed pretty well. Compressed air is too strong to air dry at full open. I've had very good luck taking my shop-vac and reversing the hose so it blows air instead of sucking air. The pressure is not too strong, and does a nice job acting like a blow dryer. Been doing it for years. Neighbors used to think I was sucking up the water, until they realized i was drying my motorcycles or vehicles. Now I have several neighbors doing the same. Heck, some are using this as a way to blow crap out of their garages after the winter months. Just make sure your "DRY" filter is relatively clean before you blow air onto your vehicles. And no, it won't sandblast dirt onto your paint!! ;) :fingerscrossed: :like:

The front suspension knuckle went from aluminum to cast iron sometime in 2020. My 2019 is aluminum. Brother's 2020 is cast iron. I'm not the one to say whether it's a positive, negative, or a wash - but it was a mid-year change aimed at cost savings so I think it belongs.

This might be what's referenced by #20 - not sure.

The deal with using aluminum was weight. Steel weighs 2.8 times more than aluminum, so even having to add thickness an aluminum fender will weigh probably half or less of what a steel one does. That is extra payload capacity they can advertise. Doesn't sound like much, but figure 2 fenders, 4 doors and a tailgate it adds up.

Didnt the PDN and R on the center shift console light up until mid 2020? Also thought the one option package or trim level had the "Ranger" illuminated in the rocker panels... Its just a sticker in mine?

Anyone know if Ford has replaced aluminum with steel on the "flagship" F-150 ? Steel cheaper than aluminum so I'm expecting to see a msrp price decrease from Ford. Maybe that statement belongs in the heard any jokes lately thread.

I'm not sure I understand #23 - the change in displays. I read all the comments here and no mention of it; what exactly changed? If it only has one screen now, is one side just blank?

I know this was definitely a supply issue related to chips last year - the Lariats were at least two extra months last year waiting for instrument clusters due to chip shortages and since supplies aren't any better now, I'm guessing Ford did this so they can keep shipping trucks.

Lariat 500A has XLT instruments now vs the two screen Lariat cluster which is only in the 501a package for 2022.

Ok, so not actually removal of one of the screens, it's a change in which instrument cluster is sent. Makes much more sense, is definitely related to chips shortages, and the XLT cluster is widely preferred anyway. So this is an upgrade lol. They're using the same cluster on the Explorer and when we test drove before ordering, I was reminded how much nicer it is than the one in my Lariat.

Yes I was just reporting it how Ford describes it on the order guide.
