Did the Builtright molle panels clear your tonneau clamps ?

I ordered the 4-piece set for our SCab and am waiting to see if they clear our RetraxPRO XR clamps that have a lower standoff bolt. Matt at Builtright said it will be close and it's okay to trim (and paint) the panels without voiding the warrranty.

Matt is very responsive to answer questions.
The panels sit pretty recessed. I would be surprised if they didn't clear.

I’d love to hear you feedback on those 2.5s.
I had 2.0's on the truck prior (Tremor) so haven't noticed much difference on road yet, but I have only been to the alignment shop and back so far. I initially set the DSC to 3 clicks for both high and low speed and found on road to be slightly harsher than what I had before. Just clicked down to 2 for the high speed, took a quick drive around the block, and feels closer to the ride I had prior. Lot of configurability to these so will need to play around with them a bit.

They also brought the truck closer to level. I measured yesterday after putting them on and they added about 3/4" to the front, so pretty close to level. I am putting a winch on sometime next week (if I can find the motivation and energy), so I expect some of that to settle back down again.

You went from OE Tremor suspension to the 2.5s? Clarifying...

Took my brother to dinner the other night as the DD, and he is obviously use to heavier doors. Second time he slammed the door, I swore I would fix the tinny noise. I didn't notice it before because I'm far more gentle closing doors.

Applied about 25-30% coverage of KillMat Deadening Material to mostly the outer panel. The inside panel is not too bad due to the window mounting adding structural points. The inside panel bottom and handle side portions though are noticeable tinny and applied on the inside. Cut 2" strips and used about 2 1/2 sheets.

Then used about 90% coverage on the exterior panel and covered the Killmat on the interior with Neico Red CCF. After tapping around on the inside panel also found a few spots that could use a bit more deadening and applied on the outside. Used about 6 sheets in total.

Noticeable difference in how the door sounds when closing. More of a muted thud now, with the tinny sound now gone. Not quite luxury car quality, but better than before.

I don't expect much in the way of sound absorption without any type of mass loaded vinyl, but the goal was to fix how the doors sound when closing. Without tearing the entire interior apart to be able to get near 100% coverage with mass load vinyl not really worth any extra work and cost without any benefit.

Now for three more doors and the rear wall.

Yes it cleared. No issue at all & lots of space between them. The panel sits close to the bed wall so it’s almost behind the cover clips. Hard to see from that pic.

New wheels today 17x9 HD menace and toyos 265/70r17, slightest rub at full lock reverse - maybe ill level it eventually if its easy enough to diy.

Looks good Damien. I have the same wheels but bigger tires and levelled.

The lower offset (+15mm) sure looks good but it does come with its own set of issues, like potential for rubbing. It’s a good thing you didn’t go with 275s.

You might be able to stop that slight rub by loosening the crash bar bolts and angling them back, out of the way. There is a slight bit of play in them and it just might be enough to give you clearance.

If you decide to level it, be sure to read a lot about it on here and don’t believe the videos that make it look like a piece of cake. My build thread talks about pitfalls to avoid. For now, enjoy the look.

I have the BuiltRight and a tonneau, no issue clearing the clamps...

Thx Duke, i got that little bit of space from the crash bars and that seems to have solved the rub - i do want that leveling but i was just looking at the downfalls some have had on here now i may get a shop to do it

Threw the running boards back on. Typically I'd wait till the snow is gone but I'm heading down to Lansing which is an 800 mile round trip and I'll take the wifes Subaru. With gas prices it's better to take the car that gets 34 miles to the gallon than the one that gets 22!

She has a hard time getting into the Ranger without the boards on so I figured I'd earn some brownie points and put them on for her. ?
