Just got it back and gave it a go. Seems to be doing fine.

There is a noise it makes when I floor it, sounds like in the cabin it's sucking in air. Don't remember it doing that so I'll probably go up there Monday and test drive another to be sure. (Considering I had the thing for a week before it went back in the shop... I might simply not be remembering it accurately.)

Other oddity... I was told injector #4 twice. Looking at the paperwork, they replaced #2 and resealed #1, #3 and #4. With a note that #2 injector is 3.1 OHMS before replacement.

More 'miscommunication' between the tech and the rep, but I'll double check that as well on Monday.

So now I start the clock to see if it reproduces in a couple hundred miles or not. (Fingers crossed.)
I’m so glad you got your truck back. I hope it’s all better and you’ll have nothing but fun with it in the future.

In curious as to how long it took the service technician to do the repair after the parts were received.

As to remembering how my truck sounded, rode, or felt is going to be challenging as I only had my truck for five days before it was in the shop.

Totally relate to not remembering what it drove like. I'm basically relearning the vehicle now and trying to parse over-sensitive-paranoia from what might genuinely be different. But a test drive of another should answer my overall question on that noise. Maybe it's fine, maybe it's just the turbo I don't remember hearing like that...who knows.

As for timing, here you go:

4/11/2019 -
Took delivery of vehicle after 5pm.

4/17/2019 -
Check engine light came on.
Took it to Ford at 2:30pm.
Ford checked and it was an "Injector Error".
They ran it on the machine and there were no errors, but said if it happens again to bring it in. They would need a few days as they will have to call Ford.

4/19/2019 -
Check engine light came on again.
Took it to ford at 4:00pm.
Ford checked and it was again an "Injector Error".
They are keeping it for several days to work with ford on it.

4/22/2019 -
Ford called and said it was either the Engine Control Module (ECM) or #4 fuel injector. Ford (corp) requested they start with replacing the ECM.

4/24/2019 -
Part still on order. "Good chance tomorrow."

4/26/2019 -
Incorrectly told me what they were working on. They said ford told them NOT to do the ECM first. So they are replacing the #4 injector. However parts are back-ordered and they are looking in dealers for them.

4/27/2019 -
Parts actually came in today, however it will take them until monday or tuesday to be complete. I will be out of town until saturday so they will do some driving and see if they can make it happen.

4/29/2019 -
Ford called to let me know the truck was finished, and they were going to continue drive testing it to see if any issues pop up.

5/4/2019 -
Picked up the truck from dealer at 2:45pm, as they were closed the day prior by the time I arrived back in town from San Francisco. So far the truck runs fine, however there is a sucking noise in cabin when you floor it that I don't remember hearing. Considering I only had the truck for 8 days before the truck went in the shop, I could simply be remembering things wrong.
Will continue to drive it and watch for the error. Also of note though, it appears according to the ticket that they actually replaced injector #2 and not injector #4 like originally was told to me.

From the time they identified with corporate (4/22) until the part arrived (4/27), it was 5 days. They also said in that time it was back-ordered before it 'showed up'. I'm not sure if it was their order that came in, or if they found it through a nearby dealer.

Actual repair took them around 3-6 hours once they came back in on Monday morning (4/29). I have a ranger there as I'm basing it off when my phone alerts (ford pass) came in for them resetting sensors and overtemps, which were delayed while I was on a plane.

The sucking in air noise is normal from what I remember. There’s been posts about it. Glad your truck is back and hopefully fixed for good.

I didn't see anything off hand, but phrasing matters. I'll poke around.

There is the normal "big arse fan" noise when I first start moving, but flooring it there is an exterior noise in addition to an interior sucking noise. I'm sure your right and it's fine, but again, paranoid. :)

My truck seems to be on a similar track. I’m hoping I get it back this week. I’m chomping at the bit to have it fixed and to drive it.

Search for “whoosh” that should bring up a couple threads at least. I’m on my phone or I’d link to it.

Sounds don’t normally bother me unless it’s metal grinding. I’m way more sensitive to throttle response and transmission functioning. Beyond wind noise from a bad cabin seal, I’ll just crank up some Led Zeppelin on the B/O stereo and be blissfully ignorant.

Here's my thinking from a technicians view. It may have very well been a injector #4 issue from the get go. Initial diagnosis is to move the suspected injector/plug/coil, whatever, to another cylinder and see if the issue follows.
If it does, he's certainly not going to move it back to #4, just simply order new injector and now replace #2 so the paper work shows.
On the whooshing sound, from what it read here, it sounds perfectly normal being a turbo motor. I'm willing to bet that if the resonator was to be deleted on the exhaust system, "that sound" would go away.
We're glad you have the truck back! Hopefully nothing but fun with it from now on.

appreciate the sanity checks.
I track those differences, but normally chalk it up to pass-the-message breakdown as the tech isn't normally who I directly talk to. No problems with the service staff though, they've been great through the process and seemed genuinely gut punched along with myself when I dropped it off.

Found some, seems close enough. (Not the rumbling part, but the wooshing. And for me it's from the drivers left side.) Thanks!

Welcome to our exclusive club.
Just curious what your blend dates are? Wondering if there was a bad batch of injectors somewhere in there - seems like there must be - just wondering if you can narrow it down to certain weeks or something.

Wow - Mine was 3/19 - and (knock on wood) I've not had any issues yet - almost 1200 miles thus far.
