Ok I have a 21 Lariat Ranger , 1st high end truck I’ve ever owned…

Is it me or do people exaggerate their perception of problems??

Having owned vehicles for 45 years and many F series and E series Fords . I get that there are niggling issues but come on!!

I ordered this or that package and it wasn’t what I expected… on and on..

I don’t get the gripes… handling, shocks, radio etc..

I just wish people would solve their issues and share..

My Ranger is the most advanced and easiest to drive vehicle I’ve ever owned… period!!

Yeah there’s stupid stuff I don’t like, like the 12 volt outlet position… so what??

In the grand scheme of things this is really a great midsized truck!!!

Loving Life!! Enjoy!!!

People are crybabies and will bitch and complain about everything as if they walked into ford expecting a Bentley.

same people probably can’t even install their own wiper blades.

No vehicle is perfect and if someone is expecting that they're setting themselves up for disappointment right off the bat. Is the Ranger perfect, no, but it's a darn good truck compared to the other mid size trucks out there. They need to go drive a 3rd gen Tacoma and then come back. I bet they never complain again!

I have to agree with you. One thing I have never understood is the complaints about the fx4 shocks. I don't mind them at all and see no reason to replace them unless when my tires wear out I go up a size or two. I definitely understand it can be a bit wallowy, but it's a truck after all. The one issue I did have was with paint on the rockers that cured/dried was quite literally dripping off them was fixed. It's a pretty comfortable truck at least in my opinion.

I agree.

there are parallels with a forum like this and the social media platforms. I think most people enjoy their trucks and drive them. A small minority obsess over small problems and go to bed angry at Ford motor company. Sometimes the smaller the problem the more angry they get, like the glovebox damper or the lighting on the shift indicator. It makes them mad that such insignificant things are missing BECAUSE they’re insignificant. Makes me laugh.

lots of cry babies exist lol. i am on occasion one of them. i will piss and moan about dealers, the alternator being mounted about 3 feet too low and a few others. but the ranger is a great truck. only thing id really like and have a real reason for is a longer pickup bed. a 6 foot on the screw and 8 on the scab would be awesome.

I think when people spend $35-$50k of their hard earned money they should be allowed to nit pick. Besides, nit picking and complaining on a public forum helps people to solve issues and allows potential buyers to see what they are getting themselves into.

Only difference between ford and Bentley is that 97% of Bentleys need warranty repair in their first year.

I would submit some of these problems or perceptions Ford created on their own. Did you cross shop a F150 Lariat? The Lariat package on a F150 gets you better quality leather seat w/ more adjustability, heated and cooled, and a heated steering wheel. It also has an integrated brake controller included w/ tow package. So I was kind of expecting these looking at the Lariat version of the Ranger. Same w/ number of bed tie downs, and so on. The Ranger Lariat doesn't and won't have the same stuff the Lariat F150 has. I'm ok w/ that, and bought it anyway. Those weren't the reasons I was buying a Ranger. But my initial look at the Lariat version of the Ranger was that Ford went cheap vs. the F150 version.

well "IF' "people spend $35-$50k of their hard earned money" dont do there due diligence & buy ANYTHING said nit picking is their own fault.

there is NOTHING that is mass produced that can "fit" everyone perfectly, so if you dont want to complain then have a completely custom built whatever then see if said people are completely happy

Why the nit-picking?

According to carsalesbase.com, Ford sold a total of 285,812 Rangers in the USA market from 2019-2021. As of today, the Forum Statistics at the bottom of the main forum page shows 12,214 members. Some members here own, or have owned, more than one Ranger. Some members here are not in the USA market. Doing simple math, a maximum of 4.3% of all Ranger buyers are represented here. That means that for every person registered here, there are at least 19 Ranger owners who are not members. The number of very active participants is a small fraction of the 4.3%.

This 4.3% (or small fraction thereof) is NOT representative of all Ranger buyers. We are enthusiasts, customizers, modifiers of Rangers, and have more than a casual interest in how things work, how things don't work, and suggestions for improvement.

In short, we came here, to some extent, to complain. We came here to solve problems. We came here to share, and to benefit from the sharing of others. It is part of ownership that interests less than one in twenty buyers.

If you came here expecting post after glowing post of complete customer satisfaction, you're guaranteed to be disappointed. If you can't stand the nit-picking, the obsession with small details where Ford could do (and in other models IS doing) better work, why are YOU here?

When I bought a Ford Diesel I went on Ford Diesel.com and thought that this truck is junk. Every post was something bad. I did learn that the TPS went out regularly and that info saved me on a trip. It is the internet you know, you have to separate the wheat from the chaff. All vehicles no matter how much you pay for them will break. Usually idiots have the most trouble.;)

I spent 19 years at a Ford dealer, having seen many many stupid problems, you just know that if it breaks, you get it fixed and don't let it ruin your relationship with your truck.
Some people go from loving it, to hating it, after a single problem.
