Ok I have a 21 Lariat Ranger , 1st high end truck I’ve ever owned…

Is it me or do people exaggerate their perception of problems??

Having owned vehicles for 45 years and many F series and E series Fords . I get that there are niggling issues but come on!!

I ordered this or that package and it wasn’t what I expected… on and on..

I don’t get the gripes… handling, shocks, radio etc..

I just wish people would solve their issues and share..

My Ranger is the most advanced and easiest to drive vehicle I’ve ever owned… period!!

Yeah there’s stupid stuff I don’t like, like the 12 volt outlet position… so what??

In the grand scheme of things this is really a great midsized truck!!!

Loving Life!! Enjoy!!!
Agree 100 percent.

well, a F250 Lariat probably starts at 60k. It's about expectations of what I as a consumer get from the Lariat package, whether its a one ton or a half ton or a Ranger. I bought one, but wasn't impressed. But, I was coming from a full size truck, so maybe I had different expectations than you.

The maverick lariat starts at around 28k, yet has a heated steering wheel, 8 way power drivers seat, and 10 bed tie downs.

I just think because Ford doesn't have a consistent identity across it's various models, consumers end up nit picking it. No heated steering and no brake controller for me are a fail for a Lariat.

heres the great thing about our society, you have the choice to get that Maverick if the ranger Lariat is a fail for you.

I hear there giving great trade ins these days too

Some thoughts. I don't mind people being nit picky. Gives me some heads up on what to be mindful of and what requires immediate service. As far as comparing to a full size truck and it's options, the f150 has been ford bread and butter for years. They don't want to make their smaller trucks quite up to the same options as their larger ones because they would rather you buy a larger truck and if they made the smaller ones as optioned, they would be stepping on their own toes. I've been quite happy with my ranger ownership so far, but I also only have 16k miles on it. Any vehicle is considered really good to me if it can make it to 60k miles without significant hiccup. From what I've read, you've got people that have real lemons, and then the rest are just "I'm not a huge fan of such and such thing, can I make it better or is it normal?"

I hear the great thing about our society is that people can bitch about what other people are bitching about. I'm skeptical, but what do I know?

I wonder if the options (or lack of) on our 5G Rangers are limited because Ford knew that they would be releasing the 6G in '23? It seems like the 5G here in the US was a stop gap waiting for production of 6G.

yes, obviously; they did what they considered the minimum changes necessary to sell in the US market.

I agree with all you said. I have been on many internet owner's forums for vehicles and motorcycles. IMO, the internet artificially inflates the negatives and people by nature complain more than they compliment. Lets face it....without the internet you would not here of the minority having specific issues. That is not to degrade their issues. However, some of their perceptions may be just that. Ride comfort as an example; I have the Tremor package and I believe it rides very nice, smooth, etc....especially for an off road designed vehicle.
I have had my Tremor now for 7 weeks and have found it to be top notch.....damn near perfect. If some wanted the comforts of a sports car, Corvette, Ferrari....then they maybe bought the wrong vehicle (and I bet their owner's have issues and complaints too).

A "nit" is the egg or the young larva of a louse or other parasitic insect...
I have searched my Ranger extensively and have yet to find a "nit" that I could pick.....
So, I have no reason to "nit pick" as I have no "nits".....My Ranger is NIT FREE !!! :handsinair:
