Wanting to trade my Ranger in…

Sadly Rangers are not offered in ‘fleet colours’.
Everything else I have is omaha orange. I wanted matching colours.
So, Had to settle for white. Partially because its a low maintenance colour thats not silver or grey which those two colours suck in my area visibility wise. Plus white is easier to respray if I want in a few years.
Btw,
Because black shows every speck of anything thats not black. I went with the ‘stone’ interior.

My wife's flex has a 2014 with a similar color. We bought it used it still has not faired well. The sand stone interior that is

I love your black ranger, love my black ranger. It is true hard to keep clean. I basically speed wipe ( chemical guys) every other day to keep dirt down. The blue is stunning. If I had to redo my Ranger overall 2020 xlt tremor with black appearance package super crew with back sliding window in Cactus Gray. My 2003 t-bird in mountain mist was hardly seen as dirty

Iconic Silver 2021 Ranger here....color dose not show dirt as easily as others.
BUT...
Get what makes YOU happy. Obviously your not happy with the black for the reasons you pointed out. Best to sell it/trade it in now while the market for used is still high.
Even if you have to lay out a few thousand, you are still making more on your 2020 than you paid, your getting a new vehicle, and in a color you'll be able to live with.
If you wrap it, your still stuck with a black truck, and, when the market rebounds, and/or the newer models come out, your 2020 will probably lose value.

I like everything about my truck other than the constant task of keeping it clean and scratch free. I want to trade for a white or bright red Ranger Sport FX4 or Ranger tremor. Thoughts? Here is my truck, and examples of what I want to trade for. (My mods will be moved over to new truck if not a tremor)

I would save yourself some coin and just get a full vehicle wrap of any color of your choosing. Around me in MT it is around 3500 to 4000 depending a vehicle for a complete color change. Much cheaper than in the long run imho.

No, it's not cheaper....
OP's posting indicates he is getting 43 grand for a truck he paid 36 grand for, so he's 7 grand ahead. New Tremor he's looking at is 46 grand, which is a 3 grand difference.....cheaper than a wrap, which would still leave him with a black truck. Wraps are nice, but will scratch just as easily as paint, and you can't touch a wrap up...the whole panel has to be replaced.

Nice truck!! I would stick with the black. What size tires do you have on that? and what lift? I thought it was a Tremor at first. Very sharp, looks better than the two your thinking of IMHO.

I thought he said they offered to buy it out right for $43k. So that would be with all the mods. The question I would have is regarding the $46k on the new Tremor. What fees is the dealer looking to add?

BTW, I was looking at Rangers a few months ago and all of a sudden two local Ford dealers have started calling and emailing me to come down and see the new Rangers have on the lot. This started last week. Both seem to want MSRP + dealer adds (@ $1600). For whatever its worth, the salesman from Chapman Ford told me they will not take below MSRP and are not negotiating on the $1600 dealer adds. That would probably change if I was sitting in the dealership. Chapman Ford did say that they would do X-Plan on a 2022 Ranger order but I would have to agree to the $1600 dealers adds. I told them I would not agree to that. So out of curiosity, I emailed 3 other Ford dealerships in the Phoenix area and two now claim they will do a 2022 order with X-Plan and no dealer adds. As of Sunday, the 3rd Ford dealer says they are considering it. I can buy one cheaper from Granger in Iowa, but an X-Plan deal in this day is probably not bad. I wonder if this is signaling a shift in the market.

You have to check out cactus gray! I believe it’s new for 2021. I just bought the SXT FX4 in cactus gray and it’s great. I’m in southern Utah so we have crazy dust all the time. It will get dirty sitting in the garage but always looks clean. I got mine OTD at $39k. The only options I don’t have that I really wanted are leather/heated seats. I like the gauge cluster better on the lower trim. Plus the payload is 300#to the better.

I was never a fan of red... Always reminded of a firetruck. Or like a volunteer firefighter's truck. Which isn't a bad thing, just flashes back to trashy people in my childhood

Anyways.... I'd go white. It's easier to match with accessories as it doesn't clash with anything.

Plus, with white, you can get District 9 vibes. Or Toyota technical gun truck knockoff.

I like Cactus Gray but not as much as the Blue

Keep the Black and have it professionally coated. It makes taking care of black MUCH easier.


Besides, you will get raped trying to buy a new Ranger right now IF you can find one.
