Nah should have put a TTB axle, that was the pinnacle of evolution for 4x4 front ends. Most of the strength of a solid axle combined with most of the advantages of an independent.

I watched the video and at first I was calling this guy names like "Moron", "Idiot", etc. Especially after watching his arrogant stance at the end. Then I started reading his comments in response to other comments to his video. It seems like he does realize he made a mistake and is owning up to it. I don't think he's that rich to not care about the repair bills. Although, I still don't think he's that smart to even post up that video and then state he wants Ford to cover it via warranty. I think Ford will figure it out. Or maybe they'll cut him some slack and fix his Bronco so he can brag on YouTube how great his Bronco is?

I hope Ford does pay for it even though they shouldn't, just for partially even out the Universe. They didn't want to pay for my F150's rear taillight lens that was leaking even after my dealership sent them a photo of water stains inside the lens. Ford said they needed to see water leaking out of the lens. We didn't have a photo because when we removed the lens we drained the water out! Even after I appealed to Ford Customer Service, they refused. Even after the water leak would short my brake light bulb every time.

So this guy made a mistake and got over excited. Who hasn't done that?

That changes it somewhat, I do not support him trying to get Ford to fix it. I doubt even without the video the internal damage will show an impact is obvious, not a simple broken tooth.

Short of expecting someone else to fix it though, I have no problem with the miscalculation, or inexperienced maneuver. It's great to play safe all the time, but you never know your, or your vehicles limits until you exceed them. Crashing and breaking things is part of the learning curve.

I've crashed, I've broken things, I learned from those mistakes, and didn't even repeat some of them, lol.

Agreed, and I am as well. But I also giver sometimes and wreck stuff.

I think I posted my scratched rim in this thread already, which when it happened I posted it as well but it may have been on another forum. Anyway, when I did some people were far more upset than I was. Turn in your man card and the like. I was more on the "turn in your man card if scratches on a 4x4 rim make you cry or lose sleep".

I try not to abuse my stuff unnecessarily, but do work things hard and push their limits. Getting out of jams, and bush repairs are half of the fun of going off-road.

Same here. I did some incredibly stupid things in my '86 Ranger and '67 Mustang Fastback 30+ years ago. I'm glad no one was around with a camcorder.

If that was me in the Bronco, I would be embarrassed to have it on YouTube or Yahoo News.

And I sure as hell wouldn't be saying anything that sounds like "warranty."

In my opinion, he seems like a stand up guy. He didn't lie or try to cover up what happened. He said it would be cool if Ford covered it, but acknowledged it was a long shot. Not seeing any problem with that.

The guy who had the red Jeep wasn't driving it at the time. He got out of it above and he set the e-brake and it was on loose gravel and rolled backwards. Sadly his girlfriend (or friend) was still in there when this happened and was in serious condition. I have the article saved and will edit once I find it. Just like this guy with his Bronco it was a stupid mistake but this one unfortunately almost cost someone their life.

According to the driver of the first vehicle, a red Jeep Wrangler Sport, he stopped, cut the engine and applied the emergency brake before stepping out of the Jeep to assist the driver of the other vehicle in navigating the tricky turn.

Upon approaching the other vehicle, the 22-year-old male driver heard the sounds of crunching gravel and turned back to see a horrifying sight: the Jeep was sliding on the rocky, off-camber roadway towards the edge. Rushing toward the Jeep in an effort to regain the driver’s seat and control of the vehicle, the man was thrown into nearby rocks as the Jeep tilted over the edge of the roadway, rolling down six switchbacks before coming to a stop on Bridal Veil road below.
