Driver apparently left in the WAHmbulance, lol.
Don't know what the hell they expected. The Raptor is a pre-runner at best. Not a goddamn trophy truck with 2-3 feet of suspension travel.

I had a 95 YJ 4.0 auto. It was a tank just don't be in a hurry to get anywhere or expect to be dry if it rains or have a/c. I remember YJ guys dis'ing TJ's because they ran coil springs. Real jeeps have leaf springs! There heads would explode if they come out with a IFS wrangler.

I know all about the no hurry. Mine is currently 4cyl Auto.

And the CJ/TJ guys diss the YJs. "Real Jeeps have round lights!"

Thinking of a personal tag as my '95 qualifies for classic plates here.

This video bugs the living crap outta me. The guy goes full bore into the mud while obviously getting it filmed. You think if no one was watching he would have done that? NOPE!
Today's generation is too wound up in social media to think straight. It was all about the clicks....whether he made it or not.

Dumb ass...

I think he might have. There have always been guys who would do dumber crap if their buddies were watching. Social media likes are just the modern-day stand-in. It's the classic "hold my beer" moment that predates social media by a long shot.

I'd bet everybody has done it at some level, too. I have. I haven't broken an expensive truck or my body yet, but I've certainly embarrassed myself.

Sad but it worked. I saw this on Yahoo's homepage which was originally written by Road And Track. Guarantee he's made enough (2x's over) with all the clicks to pay for it. It's all about being a "rock star for the day" now on social media. :(

I saw on the news yesterday that the big craze when quitting your job now is to do it with a Tik Tok video.

Guy looks to be over 40 so not sure that he is today's generation.

I love how everybody not doing exactly as any of you would do is a dumb ass, LOL.

Not bothering anyone else, not complaining about anyone else paying for it, not blaming the government or looking for anyone's sympathy. Out having fun, and living life, he doesn't care if his truck is broken, why are you all so upset?

Take the plastic off already...

The Bronco is a failed attempt at a market owned by jeep. Should have put a solid axle up front.
Nah should have put a TTB axle, that was the pinnacle of evolution for 4x4 front ends. Most of the strength of a solid axle combined with most of the advantages of an independent.

I'm skeptical that the unit is "sealed" vs Ford testing it as a non serviceable unit for parts purposes. That is, I suspect that if you scrounge up parts you can change them to your heart's content. My father explained this to me many years ago when I was little and the blower motor went out on our car. Manufacturer treated a whole assembly (motor, fan, housing, etc) as a unit, to the cost of several hundred bucks. We pulled the blower motor, took it to the small engine repair shop to replace the brushes, easy operation--like two screws to drop the motor if I remember right all these years later, as though the engineers intended it to be easy to service. But the manufacturer just didn't want to deal with stocking and tracking all the small parts. (And even if they did, you'd hear no end to the bitching about how much they'd charge for all those little parts...) Anyway, I haven't seen this particular unit and maybe it really is welded shut, but I expect it's just bad word choice on the video. (If it can't be opened, how do they know which components are broken?)

Edit to add: with a sample size of one there probably isn't enough public data to know which parts (if any) are worth a person carrying for the bronco. Maybe there will be a common failure that becomes well known and worth preparing for, maybe there won't.
Yes tend to agree, there are bolts around it therefore it isn't "sealed" per se, just that Ford treats it as an assembly and don't stock the individual bits inside it. Other manufacturers have also (somewhat annoyingly) done the same thing for various bits. This usually means that they have have brought in those parts from outside suppliers as an assembly, and thus don't even have the parts themselves. No problem, sooner or later the aftermarket will come to the party.

There was an issue with the Aus model Ranger front transfer case seal leaking, initially you could buy the seal, then you could only buy the seal and a new pinion as an assembly, finally they were trying to tell you you had to buy the whole front half of the transfer case with new seal and pinion already installed for some king's ransom.
If you pull it yourself the seal is an off the shelf item you can get from any good bearing supplier for like $15-20

He isn't even taking responsibility for it. Mentioned in a follow-up video, :I'm trying to get Ford to cover it under warranty."
