Well damn I owe you a beer or two. I'm serious! You made a difference by writing that up so thank you! Did I say I love my truck even more again after I fixed this? LOL! I want to drive it around town now because before I didn't want to drive it around town because of this surging at low...
If it's not a Tremor/Raptor, take this opportunity to replace the shocks with the best you are willing to spend money on. They do make a noticeable difference. Bilstein comes highly recommended. I've used them on a few Fords and I have to agree. If not Bilstein, then FOX.
There were no instructions. The link to the thread on this website above has detail instructions. But anyone who can do oil changes can do this replacement. 1 bolt, 1 electrical connector, and two hose clamps. You will have to reach way back there so I had to use a thick blanket over the...
2021 Ford Ranger Tremor with 32k. I'm NOT the one who figured this out. The members of this Forum figured this out and it appears to be a common issue. Thank you RangerBill for pointing me in the right direction.
I've had this issue since about 7k miles ago where the truck started to surge...
The PARK feature on the transmission is just a heavy metal rod that goes into another metal Hole or Notch in the transmission, which locks the transmission/driveshaft and REAR axle. Or something to that effect and they call it the "Parking Pawl" in the trans. Does not lock the front tires...
That is very good to hear. I always wonder why on Earth does Ford de-tune the 2.3 from the 300 it has in the Explorer to just 270 in the Ranger. In the Mustang it is tuned to 310 for the standard and 330 for the "High Performance" version. I know those are tuned for 91 octane though. So...
I just got a Livernois tune. They will ask you what engine mods you have BEFORE they "ship" you your tune so they do adjust to some degree. I also have a truck just like yours: '21 Tremor. The gain with the Livernois Performance tune using 91 octane is about 50. With your CAI and freer...
I'm sorry to hear at only 47k miles.
I love and hate Ford's 10-speed. Why give it 10-speeds then program it to skip gears, go to the tallest gear available and lug the engine at steady state cruising or even at parking lot speeds? Why Ford??? If you're not going to use the 10 gears then why...
My truck has 32k miles on it. 100% stock hardware except for lights, and bed accessories.
I live in a hilly area so I'm either driving uphill or downhill. I rarely commute on her, so mostly highway road trip miles (2/3 usage). I worked from home from '20-'25 so didn't drive her much except...
I can't live without this tune on my Ranger. I honestly would get annoyed with the truck's transmission shifting habits, and I could feel the motor was being held back. It wasn't fun driving it any longer. After the tune it shifts like I want, uses all the gears, isn't lazy, and the motor is...
I got a tune from Livernoise a few months ago. I had an issue with an Emissions Sticker and I called them up direct, someone answered, and go it taken care of. Maybe I just got lucky. Anyway, I absolutely love the tune! It's like I got a new truck!
There is a much quicker, easier option that is plug and play with wireless cameras (plural). Has dashcam feature. Cameras are wireless and battery powered using Solar to keep them topped up. If you do use them as an on-demand dash cam that keeps the camera's always on, the battery should last...
How about a Wolfbox setup?
I have to admit after driving my wife's GMC that has a mirror/camera from the factory, I want one for my Ranger! The "mirror" is bright (dims at night of course) and has an unobstructed view of the rear all the time (not just backing up). The Wolfbox also offers a...
A whole bunch of Camry owners out there thinking: damn I wish I had a Ranger Ecoboost!
I just went on a 1,000 mile road trip on my wife's '23 GMC Denali SUV. What an amazing vehicle! It is fitted with a 3.6 liter V6 and 9-speed trans. Electronic Suspension, Adaptive Cruise Control...
Bilstein 5100's. The last one on the list in the excellent comparison above. I've had these 5100's on my Sierra 1500 and it made a huge difference in stability (unloaded truck). Got rid of a lot of body roll in the corners compared to OEM shocks (not the Z71's). They also have a leveling...
