Very curious about this clay technique- do you have to do anything to prime the paint before hand?Just finished a complete detail last night. Wash,clay,paint prep (to strip off the dealer applied paint sealant),Opti-Seal and finally Optimum car wax. I was surprised how much contaminants were in the paint while claying. Very rough while doing the plastic bag test but now smooth and silk!
Chris, Some do a full decontamination but I didn't find it necessary. Here's a full write up I did and the process I use. Since then the only thing I've done different is now I use the 303 Graphene instead of the Optimum product and a power washer & foam cannon to wash. When you're using any type of clay whether it's a bar, mitt or towel just use a lot of lube. I always tend to use more than I should be better safe than sorry.
Left arm came from SPC on Friday and they got installed this weekend.I finally installed the front shocks from the falcon leveling kit I bought from @Mugatu that has been sitting since April.
I was surprised to see the passenger side shock was leaking with only a little under 36000 mi on it. All the evidence was on the back side so there was no way I could have known without removing it.
I tried to also install the SPC UCAs I got, but as luck would have it I received two passenger side UCAs. Its a good thing I started on the driver side and was able to notice before I installed one. Not happy that I'll have to tear into it again and I was hoping to get it aligned this weekend but now I'll have to wait for the RMA from Stage3.
. They could have made it wider, though, obviously with less material.
OEM have a lot of rules to follow... Width of a vehicle being one. The Raptor has the 3 lights in the grille because it's wide enough to be considered a commercial vehicle.Maybe my comment could be taken as being salty, yet I cannot deny the trouble OEMs go through designing and fabricating UCAs. Most aftermarket ones are just bent pipes welded to some bushing housings (pipes) and some CNC plates to host an universal ball joint. And they cost a fortune. Yes, there are a few billet machined ones, but most are just welded pipes. If they work so well, why would an OEM who is desperate to save every cent, go through the trouble? The OEMs ones deliberately limit droop
Did anyone measure with an aftermarket UCA what is the new droop limiter? Is is still the UCA hitting the strut tower like in the OEM case?
