That article has SEVERAL errors and misstatements in it.
(I had a 2012, so I know)

When looking to buy a Jeep, the most of the used ones I was seeing had well over 100K miles, and some nearly 200K. After reading all of the negativity I ask myself, "if Jeeps are so bad how do these have so many miles on them"? I couldn't rectify that in my mind. So, I bought a 2019 new off the lot. In the 2 years, and over 20K miles the only thing I've had done is oil changes, and the start/stop battery replaced. I think Jeep got itself into the situation years back, and can't seem to get the message across that they are doing better. Like any other manufacturer they have their problems, but I don't think there are as many as in the past.

Like any forum, the Jeep forum is the same. Very few stop by to say how reliable their "name of vehicle here" has been.

i’m sure I’ll get lambasted for posting these articles, but the truth is out there.
Wrangler will always have a high number of dealer repair trips and therefore low reliability numbers. No other vehicle is treated like a Wrangler. People buy one, then climb mountaints and drive in areas where it is hard to walk. Bend something, dent a part and off to the dealer for repairs for something the driver did.

Wranglers have their share of quality issues like any other mass produced vehicle but you don’t see a honda civic go over a rock garden and expect it to drive correctly afterwards.

Spend anytime off road and you will see an ocean of wranglers and very few of any other make of vehicle doing what a wrangler does.

I'd wager 90+% of new Wranglers sold never venture off the pavement, and of the ones that do, most will never go beyond a FS road.

A friend of mine bought a Wrangler Rubicon. I asked her what she thought of the swaybar disconnect and the front and rear lockers.

Blank stare. "The what?"

She bought it because it said Rubicon on the hood.

Now a Wrangler is a Lifestyle statement to a LOT of people who will never use it to its potential.

And my brand new 2017 was indeed problematic.

It seems that Jeep completely understands this very thing. To prove it, they just released their latest SEMA entry with three rows of seats. Perfect for getting the entire family to the Galleria. It also comes with ditch lights - great for spotting those empty spots in the parking garage.

It’s called the “Overlook”. I think I will.

It kinda looks like a Gladiator with a fibreglass topper.

That would be great for off roading in the Starbucks parking lot. It looks like it should be able to handle getting through the yoga momma's fighting for the best line to get their double mocha latte's after spin class. :)

We really need a Yuk emoji added to the like tab. They have this one on B6G and it comes in handy for pics like this. ?

The 2022 builds don't start until December 6th. Right now they're wrapping up the 2021 builds. I'm guessing/hoping for a March delivery and honestly would rather get it later in April when the weathers a bit warmer out that way.

Well I’m sorry but this is the same argument that these Mercedes and BMW lovers like to use. “BMWs get driven harder than other vehicles so that’s why they break down more“. Total BS. They’re over complicated and they’re not put together as well as they should be. Wranglers are the same way. The heavily modified ones that are actually capable, like the ones you showed in the pictures, don’t get taken to a dealer for very much warranty work anyway. Their Modifications are so extensive their warranties are probably voided.

yeah. His update is the same as thousands of us with orders placed. D status for quite a while since nothing happens till Dec when the MY22 actually is made.

ok. We agree your sorry (your words not mine)

I mentioned Jeep service repairs because that is what the CR stats is gonna refer to. Not the highly modified Jeep’s you mention.

That was cute. So I guess anyone who disagrees w you is “sorry” huh.
I’m not the one trying to pretend the 5% of jeeps that actually get used are responsible for the model as a whole’s poor reliability record. Now that is sorry.

Why, because the things mentioned in the article didn't happen to you personally? Elaborate.
I am not getting paid to edit and fact check some hack’s ”editorial” piece…that is not factual.
However…here is just one example: the issue with the cylinder heads WAS indeed a recall, and JEEP extended the engine warranty to 150k miles.
