Thought about ordering out of state but most are far from me. Granger is 1400 miles away. 4% on 55k purchase is $2200 savings but no need planning the logistics to go and drive back or the added cost of delivery.

You could have Jeep delivered but what if there are issues once it arrives? Blemish on paint, or engine rattles etc. I can wake up drive 10 miles and I’m at my local dealer. No travel, no hotel, no days off from work, etc.

Gumpton and Grainger have a good rep and try to do the right thing. I am just gonna stay local for this purchase.

I ordered mine from Mike Clinnin at mall of Georgia CJDR. 4-6% under based on whether or not I finance with them and if the affiliate discount for gladiators remains available (I used Tread Lightly). There are a few dealerships on on jeepgladiator forum you can find if you search. Some want 2000 or 1000 deposit, I did not have to put down a deposit with Mike. There are still guys getting their jeeps 6 weeks after ordering but others have been waiting 3 months. Still better than 3 effing years.

I wouldn't do it either just to save $2,200 especially if you were going to ship it. That would eat up a good portion of the savings. If we hadn't already planned on taking this time off I'd just stay local. The Jeep dealers here are msrp unlike most of the Ford dealers who have large ADM's added.

If I go with Granger we'll take the trip we planned on with the Bronco and come home through SD,MT,WY, and CO. If I go with Gupton my gf has a good friend who moved out there and has been wanting us to come out and visit and see the area.

What did you end up for a final order? I've been going back n forth with several different ones and this is the latest. lol

Make sure to let us know when you're coming through. A visit from the Gran Pooba of dampers is sure to get the Colorado folks out for some beers.

Ohh, and that's hot!

Sounds like you have a plan. I had a Sept 1, 2020 Bronco reservation and had “plans” to drive the Bronco thru the Big Bend a national park on my way home.

Couple differences between our builds is 2 doors and I wanted ACC so added the advance safety group. Steel bumper group so I don’t have to deal with sensors when going to aftermarket bumper. And heated steering wheel and seats in cold weather group. And I went with a fun color snazzberry.

You may already know this but Katzkin leather is the company that makes the stitched and perforated leather seats for the wrangler. I figured I could order the color combination that I like from them at a later time.

I like that color. Different without being obnoxious.
Good choice.

That's a nice color! I'm still playing around with colors but keep going back to white for it's ease to keep clean and it shows less dust. The Hydro Blue is right up there though. I was debating on the steel bumpers but I've seen some really nice aftermarket ones and it seems like a waste of $1,745 to get them and then replace them.

Katzkins is defiantly the way to go over the factory leather. They're much better and like you said you can customize them to what you want plus you can add heated/cooled seats.

That sounds like a plan! ?

Now I have to find a way to sneak out and put a special damper on your Ranger. ?

Hey guys, a buddy ordered a Rubicon last year and here is some of the advice he gleaned from the Wrangler Forum that he sent to me:

1. Tow package is a must - gives you the Aux switches.
2. Cold weather package - it can get cold in the desert - remote start included with this package.
3. If you are getting the upgraded Audio and LEDs, might as well order the front camera
4. Rock trac - well this is mostly for folks more North than South.
5. You can get replica front bumpers with winch plate from Amazon for less than half the cost of the upgraded Rubicon bumper package.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Charley it does help! I was just reading through the packages a little more and realized the remote start comes in the cold weather package. I had it separate for $500 but for only $200 more you get the heated seats and steering wheel which is a no brainer.

Now I'm off to redo my build, Thanks for costing me more money. ?

Ohh no, buddy. In celebration of your new ride I'll be driving my YJ. Assuming it's back together by then. Should be.

Don't you know? It's hip to be square.

Nice project Doug. But I'll still find a way to sneak that damper on your Ranger! :bandit:
