Need ideas regarding adhesive backed zip tie mounts. (heat related)

I've used the common little square ones with the "3M" backing for all the exterior wiring management on my rack. However over the summer I've learned they are not match for Georgia heat. It took time, but they have all about slowly fell off. I'm guessing the adhesive reaches a point on the black painted rack that it becomes goey and gravity does the rest.

So I need to move to more hardcore ideas. These zip tie mounts are put in places where they would be permanent anyhow, the cable management system is just as much part of the rack as other parts.

Should I just reinstall them with straight up superglue? How about a dab of JB weld? What other obvious solution am I missing?

Your rack is hollow aluminum, right?

Why not drill two holes at each location and pass the zip ties through the rack?

Eliminate the middleman as it where.

Clean off the adhesive. Use a dab of the brown gorilla glue. Lightly dampen both surfaces. You will need to tape them in place temporarily. This glue foams/expands a bit. If done right, it can form around the tab for added adhesion/retention.
Alternatively, you will see a spot for a screw right in the middle. For exterior use, I would pre-drill and use either a small stainless screw, or a rivet. I prefer the screw, as I worry about the sharp chisel-cut tip of the rivet damaging the wire.

Also worth considering… I prefer to use p-clips.

I used these on my aluminum boat transom to hold the transducer wire in place for my depth-finder/gps. I’m in south Texas along the coast so it’s steamy and hot in summer. No issues with heat, water or high pressure washes. Main thing is clean the mounting surface with alcohol before mounting.

2 small #2 or #4 sheet metal screws to hold the clamps down or as Dfresh said drill holes in the frame but it wouldn't be fun trying to fish a zip tie through

Automotive body panel adhesive may be an option. There are different formulations for different purpose. A body shop will know which is best, or the 3M website.

Are you using the mounts with the heavy duty red liner grey sticky tape or the standard use tape ? The white sticky tape (usually has a green liner) that these usually come with is very light duty . Remove that tape and replace with the 3M grey tape with red liner . Clean surface with alcohol and it will be there .

I ran into the same issue with mounting an organizer inside the trunk of my trike. I used the 3M tape and when summer came, same issue.

I didn't want holes in the trunk for obvious reasons, I'm sure you don't wan't holes in your rack. I ended up putting a couple drops of epoxy glue on the "mounts" for the organizer, letting them cure for 24 hours. They have been rock solid for 3 years, even when the black trike sits outside in 100*+, 5000 feet of elevation direct sun we get here. The only down side, I'm pretty sure short of grinding them off, they aren't ever coming off, which was the plan anyway ... LOL.

My go-to fastener is clear silicon. It's sturdy but somewhat easy to remove, if necessary.

The grey tape with red liner will hold almost anything if the surface is smooth and prepped well . Heat doesn't affect it like the other tapes . About the only thing that it will not adhere to is polypropylene plastic and nothing wants to stick to that ,LOL . The most common mistake people make when using the tape is improper surface cleaning . When you use any cleaner such as alcohol , you must buff off the residue it leaves behind off after it dries with a clean dry cloth before sticking the tape . We mounted hood scoops and rear spoilers to cars with this stuff and never had any issues . Most had no other bolts or attachments other than the tape . If a part came in with the tape already installed we would remove the tape and apply it ourselves because the tape would always come loose from the part and not where we adhered to the vehicle . Most aftermarket companies never prep the parts correctly and simply stick the tape to it .
