you guys can nit pick all you want. I dont feel I need to browse for hours longer to convince idiots of basic physics.
you know as well as any third grader, that the addition or removal of anything structural related will have an effect on the overall safety level.
I'm not going to browse European safety sites to try and prove anything, nor will i try an correlate their rating sytems within North America standards...the basic concept stands.

You're more than welcome to remove your bars, there is no law stating they must be installed. just man up when it all goes to hell in a crash.
Get off the high horse. You commented on my statement, and I asked you to defend it. Obviously you can't because as I said to start, you made assumptions.

Yes, I understand that removing a steel tube, also removes the efficacy of that steel beam to block things from passing that spot, but that does not in itself denote a change to the safety rating, or the speak to the accuracy of his words.

No worries, I know Karens gotta Karen.

Instead of all the keyboard warrior bickering, would it have been so hard to have a decent conversation, maybe like the following?

"Please share data on the effect of the crash bars for the Ranger"
"Well there's no public data available on with and without crash bar for the Ranger, but here are some other examples to put the effectiveness of crash bars in perspective."
"Great, thanks for sharing. After looking through, I think I'm fine with taking my crash bars off to fit bigger tires."
"Cool."

Possibly not true. If Euro spec Rangers do not have them, then Euro spec Rangers would not be tested with them in Europe. Again, I do not really know if all Euro spec Rangers had them or not. Euro spec Rangers got a very good crash test in Europe either way.
Read my post above, no such things on the rest of the world, only USDM has them, for some reason nobody really knows. It’s not an USDM it seems, rather a Ford USDM thing, afaik no other brand sports these square tubes with open ends. To me, it looks to be bugfixing.

Yes I believe it was your post from earlier that I was referencing when I said it’s reported that euro spec rangers, in their entirety, don’t have these bars.

You can’t tell some of this bunch that they’re not important. To them they're the corner stone that holds the whole dang truck together apparently.

It’s just a joke safety committee.

Was going to go with a smaller size but I thought go big or go home. These look absolutely amazing. My tire Boner will not go down.

Yes I completely removed the front crash bars and heavily modified the rear crash bars; so what, my other vehicle is an 87 GMC truck with no airbags and only one working seatbelt so obviously safety is not my top priority.

Yes a tire of this size will also fit in the spare location.

Yes I have faction Fab 1.5 spacers from our good friends at Stage 3 motorsports on as well.

No, at least on my truck, you do not have to do anything with the TPMS system, it resets itself.

New to the Forum! What all did you need to do to clear these? I have the 2021 Lariat Tremor and I love the 285/70/17. Had them on my Tacoma. Would love to have them on my Tremor.

I do, in the same size. But my tires are wearing out on the inside, not outside. They were wearing evenly for about 15k miles, and then I got an alignment and tire rotation, and they suddenly started wearing out unevenly on the inside. Got another alignment and rotation 5k miles later when I noticed it. Alignment was slightly out of spec but not enough to explain the drastic uneven wear.

I have 25k miles on these tires now and I think I'll be lucky to get another 10k. I love these tires, but I'm not too impressed with the wear (although I do use these tires pretty hard). I'll probably get another brand next time, just for the sake of comparison. Currently deciding between Nitto, Toyo, and BfG.
I am in the research phase myself...so hard to decide.

Nothing other than what was in my post. 2.5 level up front, 1.5 wheel spacers, mod rear crash bars, remove front ones. No rubbing.

Sorry i didnt see anything in the original post about the 2.5 level up front. I saw the 1.5" wheels spacers which I have just not installed. Trying to see what i can get away with without touching the suspension since it already has the Leveled Fox suspension. :fistbump:

Dang my bad I did forget to mention the 2.5 level. I’m gonna say a tremor could fit them with the spacers (even just 1” ones) and crash bar mod/removal. The 285s are worth it!

Maybe Ford does not want you to install bigger tires in the US, where it is legal in fact to change the tyre size. In the rest of the world, EU especially this is forbidden.

Seriously?

I've seen tons of aftermarket wheels on Europeon cars. You're telling me they're limited to factory installed tire sizes?

That's ridiculous.

Aftermarket rims yes but we have to stick to the tire sizes written in the papers. Otherwise it is possible yet you need to obtain certification to be legal, which is very expensive. I am not saying we are religious about it, it’s a gamble. One thing is certain, if you show up to the yearly inspection with bigger tires or non certified combinations of tire/rim even if the overall diameter is respected … you do not pass and the inspection officer can suspend the right to drive until the “defect” is solved. My winter tires are 265/65/17 as my due inspection is in November ;).

Any change in lights, like LED bulbs on a halogen headlight is also illegal, off-road lights as well, you can have them yet on the road they need to be covered. Still many people have them without issues, but if you happen to meet a very keen policeman you could be due for a fine.
