I see your point because its Cali and they suck on emissions stuff, just don't let them find the dampener, they'll probably impound your truck.
I wonder if a Catch Can would be on there hit list?
They suck at everything. Leaving that shithole was the best thing I ever did.

Cores must be returned in original package or parts store won't honor core charge refund. Store must return cores in the original package or they won't receive core credit.

Cores ?
What cores are they referring to ?
Catalytic Converter ?
Was that test with your new fuel mix ?
I thought of this. I was wondering what exactly cores they meant.. and yes this was with my new fuel mix but not sure if they are testing gasoline but perhaps

I'm pretty sure it means I am sooooo glad I don't live in California.
That's one of many reasons why we call it The Peoples Republic of California.

From my understanding it is illegal in California because BOV to atmosphere will vent out additional fumes? At least the disclaimer aren’t supposed to ship to California.
It isn't illegal to have a BOV in CA I don't think, where the legality portion comes in is if you add a BOV to a non-BOV car/truck. Essentially modifying the boost system. Anything that is added to the car pre catalytic converter requires a CARB sticker (lame). The reason you're running into compliance issue is because the stock diverter valve on the turbo is probably unplugged and the vacuum line is re-routed to the BOV for cool wooshy wooshy. The on board computer is probably picking this up? That would be my guess.

Charge pipe shouldn't mess with your compliance at all. Most visual smog places wont even notice an aftermarket one either as long as its not a crazy color (one reason I got wrinkle black finish on my previous turbo cars I tuned).

If you wanted to pass smog/emissions you could always plug your diverter valve back in and see if that does the trick with the on board computer. You will probably have to clear codes and drive it around a bit.

Edit*: I just read that we have eBOVs. That is actually probably the reason. The aftermarket BOV maybe doesn't send the same signal or only uses vacuum to open/close?

Everything you are saying makes sense. I think you are right about just switching out the BOV to stock and it will all be fine. No codes on the truck, just threw a code on their diagnostic tool. When it comes to smog, IF I still have the truck, I will just toss the stock BOV on and everything should be good to go. Well... at smog check, maybe I should switch back to 91 too instead of the current fuel I am messing around with :giggle:
