2.75in, you get the 3 in spd downpipe. I mentioned this early in the thread that you need a reducer 3in to 2.75in. Wish I had the funds to purchase the SPD downpipe and possibly the install fees. I am not very mechanically inclined nor may not have the tools needed for ease of install.

EDIT: Correct me if I am wrong... but with a reducer added, you would need to either weld or wrap with grey muffler sealant and U clamps for airtight.

It's fine with the clamps they supply doesn't need to be welded or wrapped

So what’s the deal with the old version vs new version SPD downpipe? What are the differences? On the SPD website it has a drop down for 2.5” or 3”. If you select 2.5” is that built into the downpipe or is it an adapter?

from what I understand the old ones were all 3” with a 2.5” adapter included. No clue on the new ones. Thanks!

Stock catback. So from a volume perspective there is no change.

There is definitely a performance increase. Way less lag. The turbo just seems to spool quicker and the truck just feels more willing under just normal driving. Part of this is likely due to the trans reset due to pulling the battery. I'm sure my grandma driving style will lazy out some of that.

I'm not expecting a mileage change either positive or negative. I also haven't driven much lately but I'll report back after a few hundred miles.
I got to thinking about this - MPG increase? I would guess unlikely unless the driver was able to be super particular with throttle application.

The performance potential of course can only be appreciated if MPG's aren't a concern.

After replacing the intercooler charge pipes and seeing the stock restrictions it would seem intentional on Ford's part to reach fuel efficiency marks.

Same goes for the factory tune, although it seems some of us are able to improve our own numbers with one.

Not sure, but I will say mine came with a 2.5" adapter that was welded on. I cut it off to attach my 3" pipe.

Just still wondering how FP tune and the SPD downpipe interact with each other... Any noticeable improvements? Any CEL after some time or immediately? Any complaints? Any benefits worth noting? I have asked a few times, but I try again every once in a while in this thread and others...
Thank you for the reply. However for this it’s specifically the FP tune since it cannot be updated like the other more custom tunes. But seeing that Roush tune doesn’t compensate and doesn’t throw CEL’s… I should be good to go… thank you again, helped a lot.
I would think five times before running a downpipe on an EB without a proper tune.

Good way to end up stranded in a Dallas slum, with a blown motor.

Yeah without it getting it tuned properly I think I am holding against it… don’t want to run more lean either than I already probably am.

Now with nobody tuning for downpipes it sucks! Usually they free up decent amounts of power! ???
Yup, it’s quite unfortunate…

Can’t you take it to a Dyno Tuner ?
I would definitely have to ask around the smaller local shops, I asked one of the popular local ones and they also stopped tuning for downpipes. I think the EPA are like on steroids in California. I am sure SOMEONE does it out there. Just one of those things that make me wish I was elsewhere in the states.
