Figured I'd post a picture and hopefully get some feedback. I

've noticed as of lately a decent amount of soot / oil on my exhaust tips. It's probably more pronounced since I have the awe chrome tips, but does this look excessive? Would this be considered normal blow by for an ecoboost turbo or maybe a catch can would help? Truck is coming up on 5k miles and I don't beat on it at all . . .

Cool, glad to hear it looks normal & is just carbon build up. . Besides being ocd both a mercedes we had and a bimmer started this way then eventually got worse. Turned out to be turbo seals.

It tries to do that to me when I post a pic. So what I do to remedy that is to hit the return a couple times before inserting the picture.

True story, I was trying to diagnose a phantom low coolant light on another car of mine so I bought that blue fluid and the pump and I thought maybe I'll just smell the exhaust from 6 inches away to see if it smells sweet.. BIG mistake. Almost like the time I smelled the nozzle on a can of freshly sprayed bear mace.
