Hi Folks,

My Ranger and I took my buddy over to his newly purchased townhome rental unit that had not had a foot stepped inside for 9 years. 10 years ago the owner died and the kids had him cremated and closed the door to the place for 9 years...unbelievable. Kids paid the association dues, electricity, water etc...but no one set foot in the place for 9 years! When we opened the door, it looked like someone was still living there. Fridge was running with stuff like beer and pop being over 9 years old.... Anyway we were there to fix a leaky outside water hose bib and see what was what inside the home....Our intent was to haul some stuff out with the Ranger, but this was going to take a dumpster the size of Nebraska and professional cleaners... New paint inside and out and all the fixtures will have to be replaced....toilets, sinks vanities and so on....never seen anything like this before.... Almost like opening King Tut's tomb...strange feeling...

best,
Phil

Hi Trevor,

Nope...not there but should have been....really weird opening up the fridge knowing the stuff in there is 9 years or older. There was still a load of clothes in the washing machine....Looks like it finished washing and shut off for 9 years!

Best,
Phil

I'm in Canada, that's 107 km/h in an 80 km/h zone or 66 mph in a 50 mph zone (for the people in USA, Burma and Liberia).
Thanks for the clarification. Didn't know you were on the km/h system. Its a relief to know that you weren't doing 107 US :whew:

Hi John,

Yes...creepy. It is amazing how things like this play out in our area time and time again. Signs that we look for are newspapers piling up like a few years ago at a house across from our friends on the next block. I mentioned it and a call to the Sheriff for a wellness check as there were half a dozen papers in the driveway. Yep. Guy we knew...Dick B. fixed a Martini, sat down in his recliner and died. Untouched Martini at his side... Postal delivery notes mail piling up...happens time and time again.

best,
Phil

I had a cop U-Turn behind me today, after I passed him doing 107 in an 80 zone. No lights, but got on me fast and ran my plate. My cruise was set at 88kmh by then, and he just stayed behind me for 3 km or so. Even without a speeding ticket, I have illegal tint and no front plate, which are both very easy convictions.

The OPP on my cottage route seem to be fine if I keep it under 100 in the 80 zones but the pucker factor is pretty high whenever I see that tell-tale white roof line on their black cruisers. ?. ?. ?

Today, I played Sanford & Son up at the cottage and hauled away a truck full of metal.

After a successful trip to the scrap metal yard, I headed downtown where I saw the coolest retractable hardtop ever!

Duke I would bet that it never leaked, squeaked, rattled or anything like if it was built this day and age.

That is a beauty for sure. :like:
