@Delirious Did you read the reviews on these ?? They are 2 piece also....
EDIT---Just saw someone beat me to it.
Yep I canceled my order and I’m going to my local truck shop that specializes in tires and wheels and shocks, where I got my Bilstein 5100s.

been driving Fords since my first one in 1988....and have never had a lugnut swell up. And I'm in the saltiest province outside of Quebec. (see what I did there)

I'm not sure how prevalent the lug nut issue has been....its likely just like the other issues....a small vocal minority makes it sound like a big problem when it really isn't
Yeah my Ranger is 1st Ford since the 70s and early 80s (LOL I think those had solid steel chrome lugnuts or open steel nuts and hub caps!). The pictures I saw it appears the Al cover corrodes and creates that concrete like white corrosion. I can see where that would suck on the side of the road. But it doesn't happen overnight so diligence to look at things like the lug nuts you could be fine heading off swollen nuts.

so...a bunch of you want to jump on the OP for adding a cosmetic appearance improvement to his vehicle, and you use your own misguided opinions to argue your point??

well, line up bitches, tell me about some of your mods and let me ridicule you with pointless personal anecdotes and shame you for mods on your OWN vehicle.

HI RP,

It is a significant problem for many Ford owners. I suffered it on my MXK when the Costco Tire room told me of the problem and that there are a large number of Ford vehicles which suffer this problem....
@Delirious Did you read the reviews on these ?? They are 2 piece also....

The reviews on these lugnuts are awful; have you had any issues with yours?
Hi Folks,

This seller has changed his offerings.... Avoid two piece lug nuts. Sorry for the red herring....I have deleted this Seller. Sorry for misleading folks... Lessor learned from this. SHIT! My fault... Nautlilus I got were not two piece...

Phil

No apology needed to Phil. I know people make mistakes and I luckily caught this one early and corrected it. Thank you!

EDIT - Ok I have cured my ignorance! Having not investigated Fords swollen lug-nuts(my bad). I now understand the risk! I assumed the cap was chromed steel, not ALUMINUM!!!! What Mechanical engineer worth his degree combines steel and aluminum in an corrosive environment is beyond me! So with that in mind adding a cap on top of these, plus add in a little salty water via capillary action, you have accelerated Ford Swollen Nut Syndrome - FSNS (this needs an emoji!).
Based on this I will not use these and will not recommend them.
I will leave the pictures for future readers

Having just switched to Magnetic wheels I was looking to change to black nuts. Before shelling out lots of $$ I decided to try Colorlugs a try. Basically a vinyl cap, I know, I know...
They recommended 1 inch long, which is way too big. I am sending those back and getting the 1/2 long version.
Some pics with and without - you get the idea, but also see that they stick out too far.
I will post new ones when the shorter version arrives, gotta luv Amazon free returns!
Oh and these do come in other colors besides black, for those so inclined....

Doe's anybody recognize these lug nuts? If so, what is the brand and quality? These came with the upgraded wheel and tire set. The brand is not stamped on them. The only thing the seller said was they are not factory Ford lug nuts and they are longer than the factory ones (1 3/8"). Don't know if they are aftermarket or Ford upgrades?

Thanks.

Definitely aftermarket.
They look like 2 pc, does the cap at the top have seem where it attaches to the Nut? If so 2 pc and IMHO then low quality. The finish also looks cheap, but that could be the lighting.
Better than Ford OEM? Quite possibly!

Mike,
There is a seam where the cap attaches the nut. They appear to be of good quality and there is no scoring or rounding on the nut edges from the socket.

Well give them a shot, if they start to chip and get rusty or the caps fall off, you can always replace them later.

Mike,
I re-checked the lugs and they are one piece. There was an indention between the two areas that at first looked like a seam or a gap. But will keep an eye on them. Thanks for your help :)
