Seeing as he's parked way out in the back I don't have a problem with people parking like that. it's the ones who do this closer to the front of the stores that I do. Besides, most people (especially here) are to darn lazy to walk from the back of the parking lot and ironically they're the ones who need the extra exercise.
For sure. I probably wouldn't even notice someone way out there.

Was just trying to point out that the "cross parking" move is often not well received by others.

The local grocery stores here used to have "future mother" parking spots up front near the handicapped space. Most of the women using them looked to be the wrong kind of round if you know what I mean.

One thing that I think helps on top of trying to be further out is choice of neighbor. Minivan? CUV? Stick figure family on back? Nope. If it looks like kids are climbing in and out I'm on to the next spot.

Lol @ stick figure family on back! ?

Our local grocery store (Fry's) added a huge solar array to their parking lot a couple years ago. It's nice because you can park under it and your vehicle is shaded. I still park off to the side out in the sun because there's hardly anyone over there and much safer. The only time I park under it is if I get there early morning or we go late night to grab a few quick items.

It's not so much the vehicles I'm worried about it that darn shopping carts. No one here can push the cart back to the cart corral! I've seen people leave it in their empty parking spot which was literally right next to it.

My wife has a theory on carts. Not sure I agree with her, but it has worked for her.

She'll park right next to the cart corral.

Her theory is that one side is protected from neighboring cars, and anybody taking the time to actually put their cart where it belongs will take care with it.

Me, personally, it bugs me. Park away from everyone but don't be a hog. I get it though, so I don't key them... ?... but, I think about it.

When people park like that I think, come on snowflake, you're not special.

I don't park next to people intentionally.

Unless they're parked sideways accross two spots like that. I see that as a big red flag for "entitled, megalomaniac." Not saying that's you at all. But that's what I see.

Personally I'll park right next to those cars. Especially if I'm driving my old beater Jeep.
Doug your right...it is a risk that can anger some people. I try to pick places that I think won't be too intimidating to draw that response and so far it has worked out... :)

But he's driving a Ranger so he is special. ?

I don't do it but as long as you're way out in the back away from people I could care less if you park sideways taking up 2 spots.

Tom, maybe a few of these would help? lol...j/k

I’m glad it worked out so well Brandon. I’m not sure what’s more painful - discovering that dent or having to monitor a ten-page thread about it. ?

Holy crap that looks like nothing ever happened I would be perfectly ok with the results.

I assume the funny looking square with lines of light is some tool they use to help get the steel straight.
Haha right? It was crazy watching each process as he was going to town with a multitude of tools.

Exactly, shows if there is any curvature in the metal.

Late to the thread, but I hate careless idiots too! Especially when they’re me! Had only had my truck for a little over a month, when I did this to it on the way home after a 12+ hour shift. Was going too fast, wanting to get home, and took an s-turn as if I had been in my Mustang. Learned real fast that a Ranger isn’t a Mustang when I skidded into a bollard.

Over $10k in damage, and the last part won’t arrive until the 26th, well over 2 months since the incident.

So yeah, it sucks when your truck gets dinged by some ignorant person. But it could always be worse. At least yours is drivable.

Sorry to hear the story my friend. Hope you get your truck back sooner than expected. Some crazy pictures.

I don't go out of my way to park away from people...after leveling/raising my truck and sitting on wider stance with 33" tires along with Shrock rock sliders, I feel confident that the offender would end up worse for wear if they don't mind their door swing... ?
