  1. Anyone mount an Ham Radio antenna on the bed ot the truck?

I used to be a pilot, and aviationā€™s an interest. But the real answer is that Iā€™m a nerd. Why else does anyone do anything with a radio, really?
  2. JCR Offroad or BuiltRight bed panels?

I reached back out after posting this yesterday, and the response today was that thereā€™s not enough interest from the Ranger community to peruse it. Guess Iā€™ll be building my own after all. Looking at the F-150 version, doesnā€™t seem that hard to figure out an alternative that could work.
  3. Anyone mount an Ham Radio antenna on the bed ot the truck?

Iā€™m using the Bulletproof Diesel option. One antenna for GMRS, the other for monitoring air traffic.
  4. JCR Offroad or BuiltRight bed panels?

Iā€™m doubtful. Iā€™ve heard that same message before. I emailed them a year ago after seeing someone else on here say they were working on one. Matt wrote back that they hoped to have it ready in early ā€˜23. Emailed them again in March and was told they didnā€™t have a Ranger in their fleet to develop...
  5. On board Air setup on your Ranger

I donā€™t have any of mine, didnā€™t start taking picture until the install was finished, but take a look at Post #23. The bracket I made is a copy of that one, but where his is wide enough for 2 screws to attach it to the core support, mineā€™s only wide enough for 1. The little bit of flex from the...
  6. On board Air setup on your Ranger

I finally installed the ARB single in my Ranger. Couldnā€™t come up with a better way to stick it in the engine bay, so I fabricated the same style of bracket as dmeyer302 did back in post #23 Fits well vertically, with a trimmed down wiring harness ran underneath it. Controlled by the Trigger 4...
  7. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

A while back, I made some flag decals, roughly the height of the fender vents. They were solid black, and I wanted something that matched the truck a little better, so I found this. Slid it into the wifeā€™s Cricut Weeded out all of the stuff I didnā€™t want And stuck it onto the truck...
  8. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Ordered over a month ago, was reported lost, and showed up sometime yesterday. Oracal 970RA-937 Charcoal Metallic wrap vinyl. Probably as close of a match as there is.
  9. Chip shortage explain this to me

Iā€™m not saying they wouldā€™ve made a good roof it hadnā€™t been for Covid, Iā€™m saying the virus made it worse. Webasto ordered the tooling from a supplier in Wuhan in 2019. As the pandemic spread through China, the tooling was late reaching the factory. Webasto was the first company in Germany to...
  10. Chip shortage explain this to me

But letā€™s not forget that chips are just part of the supply chain issue. Other components are delayed too, but just arenā€™t making the news. The Broncoā€™s release was delayed because the company that makes the roof panels had shut down for COVID for a bit. There was a shortage on seat foam...
  11. Tis But a Scratch

Yeah, thatā€™s sorta what happened. Went from the main road onto a road into corporate park, using this weird S-turn, jink. Entry speed was a little high and tires skidded instead of turning, and wham. Apparently the Ranger isnā€™t a Mustang. Who knew?
  12. Tis But a Scratch

Those poles suck! Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Only had about 1200 miles on the truck when that pole jumped out at me and ripped the rear end out. Took about 2 months to fix, and Iā€™m still waiting on the bed rail cap before itā€™s back 100%. (They broke a couple of clips when they...
  13. Thinking of an RV, BUT...

Just remember, it could always be worse. Remember when people used to tow their RVs with a sedan? Pepperidge Farm remembersā€¦ Thatā€™d be like using a Taurus or a Fusion as a tow vehicle today. And howā€™s this for a brake controller? The Ranger will be fineā€¦.
  14. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Correct fit, but didnā€™t work. At first I thought it was the light (because why would a connector not work?) since plugging the other new light/adapter into that sideā€™s factory connector worked fine. Then I thought maybe I got lucky with the polarity of the plug on that one, and not the first...
  15. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Well, I started to add my Diode Dynamics lights to the truck, but ran into problems. A-pillar lights installed fine, and I have to say that their mounting bracket is a bit more engineered than being simply a piece of bent metal. Even have cutouts for the zip ties used to guide the wires. Dunno...
  16. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

That little baggie next to the Trigger box is what Tigger calls a ā€œDIN Connector Harness.ā€ It plugs into the back of the controller, gets routed through the firewall, and connects to your standard switches. https://triggercontroller.com/product/trigger-din-connector-harness/ Some might ask...
  17. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Received the Trigger 4 Plus today, along with the din harness that will let me use the lightforce panel switches. Figure that will look more like factory, but with the ease of install and wireless functionally of Trigger. Best of both worlds! Just gotta wait on my delivery of Diode Dynamics stuffā€¦
  18. Anyone buy the stubby?

Nope, and Iā€™ve actually added a couple of longer ones next to it. No issue inside the parking garages downtown. I can barely still fit into my garage, but more limited by the truckā€™s length than the height
  19. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Wife got a Cricut earlier last weekend and has been making all sorts of with it since. Mostly itā€™s been labels for my sonā€™s school supplies, but she also was able to cut a flag for me. I had wanted one that was the same height as the fender vent, and none of the ones on Amazon were close...
  20. Door Sill Protector?

Thereā€™s a thread here on them (and a few other options) https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/door-sill-protectors.14859/ Consensus (between here and Amazon reviews) is that theyā€™re only held on by thin 3m tape, the top bit may let water, salt, and road grime through over time, and the bottom...
