Here's where the app has been lighting up constantly.

Hi Jim,

It sure has all the indicators of a poorly seated harness connector. I got something like this on my new 2019 Ranger and found by checking connectors that the huge connector behind the left headlight was not seated. A real PITA to reach but I got it and heard a click and have not had any problems since.

stickers were literally the 1st thing I did when I got home, blow dryer in hand my wife was laughing her A** off.
My truck was so fresh, I literally picked the corner with my finger, and it pulled clean off with no residue!

Greetings All,

This is my first post to the forum, as I (a week ago) traded in my 2011 Ford Ranger Supercab for a new 2021 Ford Ranger STX SE Crew Cab. I needed to take my son to summer camp, and then visit relatives in Ohio over the weekend and next week, and decided a new truck would be much more comfortable. Paid the balance in cash.

Sure enough, two days later with around 100 miles, it consistantly looses ABS, Traction Control, Braking PreAssist, etc when you turn right. Not left, not straight, but every time you turn right at speeds over 25.

Showed it to the dealer, resetting it and tripping it again, and their computer showed loss of communications with the Steering Angle Sensor, and both right side ABS sensors. They are not sure how long it will take to fix, and there are no loaners available. Just filed a Ford Customer Care complaint via Twitter.

To be honest friends, while I really liked the truck and found it drove great, I'm totally regretting doing the trade. They want to disassemble the truck and replace the main harness, and I know it will never be right with electrical issues right off the bat like this.

Anyone have this same problem and a positive outcome with Ford Customer Care? If my old truck hadn't already sold, I'd just prefer to unwind the whole thing.

Cheers,

JimInAllen
You are not alone. I Only have negative to say. I have 1700 miles on my truck. I've owned it 65 days. It has been to 2 different dealerships for the same issue for over 37 days. It still won't be done until after Tuesday, if they are even able to fix it. I'm on my second transmission, second starter. It will never be right after being torn into multiple times. Ford Customer Care won't reply to me. I'm on my second case number. I'm getting ready to lawyer up and have Ford replace my truck or buy me fucking Ram! With prices going up so fast, I won't be able to afford to repurchase the truck I bought. Hate to bring you down. I hope they don't treat everyone like this.

OFF TOPIC, but how long after purchase did it take you to get your 42,000 FORDPASS points???? (As seen in your Message Center)
I bought my truck on a Monday, then received the points the following Friday. But I hear some take weeks. The dealer set up the Ford Pass for me and have been using it from day one.

BTW, call me paranoid but I have next to no confidence from any car manufacturer on a new vehicle build after 03/20... I have a friend that bought a new A3 built 6 months ago that has been in the stealership more than his driveway. He claims its the worst experience he's had with them in the 30 years he has owned that brand...
3/20? The start of the covid crisis? Interesting observation. I always wondered if the pandemic might have had any part in all the quality issues that we've been hearing about. Are other manufacturers experiencing similar quality issues on their cars?

I understand you're pissed. I would be too. I also understand your concern about the wiring. But, I don't think it's the end of the world. A wiring harness isn't something to fret too much over. I know it may leave a bad taste in your mouth, but hang in there. It will be sorted out.

Thanks, I been waiting 38 days. Patience is running thin.

Funny thing is while everyone rips on BMW, we've owned two purchased new since 2014 and put high miles on each one. Nothing other than oil changes and tires. We still have my wife's 2018 and it's over 60k without a problem. The 2011 Ranger and my Son's 2011 CR-Z never even had a check engine light. One bad 12v battery in the CR-Z that's it.
Every manufacturer has an owner with a story like that, not just BMW. I had my 2011 Charger for 7 years, no issues, just regular maintenance.

The first time you commented on this I wondered if it was an isolated incident or something else. Can’t deny that the next time I had the hood opened I reached down in there and squeezed that connector just so I had confidence it was seated. Don’t ask me why! ?

The OP is showing a lot of patience in my book. A spanking brand new truck breaks down before a big holiday weekend and he hasn’t threw the keys at the GM. I wouldn’t be waiting for a GM email. I’d be in the showroom knocking on doors. They should provide him a damn rental if they don’t have a loaner. I had a E350 in for service once. It was there overnight. Over night a tow truck backed into it. I cursed to high heaven right there at the desk. I refused to pick it up and told them I would be back Monday when the manager was there. I came back and they agreed to repair it on their dime AND to provide me a rental truck until it was fixed.
Ya, the OP should be set up in a rental truck on Ford’s dime.

Dealership has no loaners, and actually after last weekend very few vehicles at all. They usually keep 250 F150s or more, and have like 25. They had 8 Rangers Friday last week. Today zero.

I've escalated, but not sure anyone is really doing anything. Emailed the GM and have heard zero.
They have a credit card though, right? Aren't there rental car agencies where you're from?
