Hi there guys, sorry if this just me being antsy but with how bad vehicle availability is these days as well as being a first time truck owner I though I should check if this rust on the drive shaft is normal for a truck driven off the lot this week with 100 miles total so far, I assume these areas are uncoated but I honestly didn't climb completely under the truck on the lot just looked at the frame rails from both sides.

Besides that I haven't seen any rust so far although there is a few small chips on the frame paint but that's probably just from the 60 mile drive on the highway home from the dealer

Insight is much appreciated!

Mine looks the same as yours back by the differential. I would expect this. On my previous vehicle the entire steel driveshaft was not protected by any coating and looked exactly the same as where your is rusted.
Other may have better ideas, but I coated mine with Boiled linseed oil and it pretty much stops the rust.

All normal surface rust. You will sell the truck long before this could present any sort of issues.
