If the crash bars are "modified" and one can fit that fat wheel/tire combo inside the stock front wheel well, is it possible to lower the rear to get to level? That is, lower the rear rather than lifting the front?
See threads about lowering. Not Easy or cheap to do.

Nope. Works just fine without a suspension lift for my purposes right now. It’s a work in progress bro. Give it time...

I've tried searching and reading, but have come up short. I'd like to change out my tires, but have a very specific tire size in mine. Has anyone fit a 255/80r17 on a stock FX4? From what I can ready, the width is generally the problem. I am okay with modifying (cutting, changing) the intrusion bars (I understand the risks, so please don't chime in about that).

I took some measurements with the truck at full lock and I have about 1.5" clearance between the intrusion beams and the tire (stock 265/65r17). Given that this tire is ~30.6 and the w255/80r17 are ~33.1, that makes the tire 1.25" taller on each side of the wheel. (33.1-30.6=2.5/2=1.25). I actually think they would fit. I will have to test fit them but, especially if I get different intrusion bars, I think they would fit. Luckily, I worked at Discount Tire for a lot of years and the manager at one of the stores is a really good friend of mine. I will be able to test fit one. Now to see if he has any in stock that I could test fit. If I can get this tire on with no lift, I can focus my efforts on ride quality in suspension with minimal lift. The real question will be rubbing while flexed. If I can't get the 255 to fit now, I will go with the 265/70r17 to start and move up when tires are needed. I will report back when I test fit.

I was under the impression that 33 wouldn't fit with the intrusion beams. Very interested to see how your effort goes and if successful, I may do the same.

I would have to modify/replace the intrusion bars, but...after looking at a lot of tire options, there aren't a good set of 255/70r17 that I would like to run. They are far and few between in that size and, if I am out away from home, I want a size that I can find around. I talked to my buddy at Discount Tire and he said they have to special order everything in that size. Looks like I will be going with a 285/70r17 when the time comes. Sucks when your research goes the opposite way of your plans, but... that's why we research.
