Since the OEM brake controller can only be installed by a Ford Dealership does it offer any advantages over a 3rd party option?
you can install it...it really is not that bad to do...

I’m out of my league. I’m going to hose something up. I’m meticulous in what I do and wish everyone had the same work ethic but this isn’t my bag. I’ve emailed literally 15-20 Ford dealerships in SC this evening. Tomorrow will tell if any reply.you can install it...it really is not that bad to do...
try a trailer retailer.....the Ford guys will want $600+....the part is about $280.I’m out of my league. I’m going to hose something up. Whether you like them or not, you'll find them on most boat trailers among other applications. Anyway, the point is that you're just wrong that max tow can't be achieved without an ebc.Ya those suck lol
No, the dealership doesn’t need to be involved at all. There are a couple of threads here if you do a search for Ford OEM Redarc controller. I found them to be helpful before doing the install. So if you installed it yourself I’m assuming the dealership didn’t have to do any magic to make it work. Good to know. I guess the muffler shop guy was mistake when he said only Ford could install the OEM controller.
Really? I rarely see them on any trailers. Thought those were more old school.Whether you like them or not, you'll find them on most boat trailers among other applications. Anyway, the point is that you're just wrong that max tow can't be achieved without an ebc.
Strange you keep saying that.. cause it's just false.Really? I rarely see them on any trailers. Thought those were more old school.
Also my bad! I should of said 99.9% of trailers you need a ebc

depends where you live and the laws. Obviously a tiny trailer like that you don’t need one. Didn’t think I needed to point out the obviousStrange you keep saying that.. cause it's just false.
I've hauled loads with my 5' x 10' trailer for the past 35 years.. no brakes at all.

It has 3,000 thousand lb capacity, full size 15" trailer wheels and is a tilt bed.Obviously a tiny trailer like that you don’t need one. Didn’t think I needed to point out the obvious
Ya 5x10 is pretty small. I think a 5x8 is about as small as a trailer gets. Why you so angry this morning, turn that frown upside down mister! It has 3,000 thousand lb capacity, full size 15" trailer wheels and is a tilt bed.
5 ft x 10 ft is bigger than the bed on your truck, like twice as big. You call that tiny.... well... ok.
Research, research, research...Ya 5x10 is pretty small. I think a 5x8 is about as small as a trailer gets.
Why you so literal ? I said “about” as small as they get. You really think a 5x10 is a big trailer?Research, research, research...
