Ford giving me the run around over some BS 60 day deadline to link to modem. First Ford Pass rep said we met deadline and sent case up the chain. Now Ford is backpedaling and denying me my points; trying to offer me 10,000 points consolation offer. This is total nonsense, we bought the vehicle and nobody from Ford ever said anything about a 60 day deadline. Ford chasing away customers for absolutely no reason is baffling to me?

Im not sure if its a Ford rule or my dealership rule but the last few cars Ive bought, my sales guy had to have me sign a paper that explained connecting to Ford Pass and what all it did and that he helped me with it.

Ive known my sales guy for many years and he knows Im fully aware of all this stuff but he still has to have me sign it and activate it before leaving the lot.

Id be having a conversation with your sales guy and finding out what they are going to do to rectify the issue. Free services, discounted parts, something.

sorry you missed it. or werent made aware of it.
its in black and white. Ford is right in their denial. you have a beef with your independent dealer, and yourself.

business is business. they have to identify rules, otherwise there is no accountability.

Totally dealers fault, they are now pointing finger back at Ford. Stuck in the middle with no points. Like coughing up 42000 points instead of 10000 will break the bank at Ford? I see what your saying Ranger Pride, but really dumb business over something they would have given me anyway but not for idiot dealer.

And considering they are only worth about $210 or so, it seems like the dealer could just eat that to make you happy. Give you a few free oil changes or comp you some parts or something.

Yeah, no kidding. This will be what I remember in five years when I purchase a new vehicle and it's not a Ford. A lousy $210.

My dealer activate my ford pass with me and my cell phone while I was waiting to sign papers, they should have done the activation when you bought the truck.
Same here. And what is blowing my mind is that I had my Fordpass points before I even left. I had some people on this forum telling me I had to wait 2 weeks for the points to show up but I had them immediately.

If it's the dealer's fault buy another Ford at another dealer. $210 isn't much to argue over if you really want another Ford down the road. Just make sure you drive to the crappy dealer with your next new Ford and show them what they missed.

my sales guy sat there, we set it up, then had me sign off on a sheet for him to show I did.

find another dealer I'd say.

Read this.. FordPass Terms and Privacy Policy you'll be glad you never signed up for FordPass

You're better off not redeeming the points... once you sign on for FordPass it's their tool to gather and share data about you.

Not to hijack thread, but somewhat related. The dealer I bought from was so nice, all lovey dovey until I signed the paperwork. They handed me the keys and kicked me to the door. No explanation of how anything on truck works. Still trying to figure out the technology. If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't have known about the points. I did get them. Not even an intro to service department or how things work around there as far as getting service.
Maybe I've been spoiled by other manufacturers. This is my first new Ford. SMH...

How long does it take for the points to show up on Ford Pass account? Its been 16 days and mine shows zero. Yes, $210.00 is crazy. I've seen dealers sales managers pass on two trucks with sales price of over $130k over $500 difference. Go figure.

FordPass is a privacy nightmare. I cringed at not only what data they shared but who with. Now I notice on an update that they want you to "log your journey." Right....

I think you can get around this while still benefiting from the points. Put your FordPass on your iPad (if you have one) and delete it off your iPhone. This way, they aren't tracking you and getting any data off your phone.
