Open letter to Ford about reward points expiring.

Don't send messages to persons saying your ford pass rewards expire on X day. People take that to mean they have untill the end of that business day to use the points. They do NOT take it to mean their points will be expired at 12:01 AM of that day.

Unless you’re in the insurance business, in which case you would assume it would expire on 12:01am of that day since that is the way insurance policies work. I’m fact, I believe most contracts would work that way.

It was my understanding that they expire on inactive accounts. You want to make sure that, on a yearly basis, you have points adding to and/or coming out of the account. Then....you don't lose any. That is what I understood anyway. Accounts that show no activity, points can be taken away "expired". IMO, they should NEVER expire. You earned those points and they are yours to use. Many of us have over a hundred thousand points. I use them typically for oil changes. It may take 5-8 years to use all of mine up.
@ FordMotorCompany : Can you give us some insight on whether or how we may lose points, points expiring? Thank you.

The 42000 points I earned in 2020 for buying my mustang were still good when I finally used them last week. I don't think they expire as I had them for over 2 1/2 years.

Looking through the app I found this. Now more points were added after I bought the truck later on. But I’m just over the 2 year mark right now and they still show in my account. Might as well get down to the dealer and get a bed mat and some other stuff before they’re gone.

I thought mine had expired. I recieved a notice thru the app on 12.20.22 letting me know they were expiring on 12.26.22.

I was on a high I had got my points back and had a few days to use them. Felt chopped off at the knees and mad when I saw they were gone on the 26th.

The wording got me and I blame Ford for my contract ignorance. Would have used them that day, but figured I had the business day of the 26th and put it off.

That is what I understood....make sure you redeem and/or add points and then they don't take any away.
