Never heard that before. We tinted windows and used in-channel visors for years with no issues. In channel I like better, had them on two previous Rangers, but with tint film I was told not to use in channel they could damage film.
Isn't the tint the inside of the glass and the visors contact the outside of the glass?Never heard that before. We tinted windows and used in-channel visors for years with no issues.
Has not at all damaged mine. As I recall, the outside of the window will touch the inside of the shade. Since film is on the inside of the window you'd think the film would remain undamaged. Mine is undamaged and unscratched. In channel I like better, had them on two previous Rangers, but with tint film I was told not to use in channel they could damage film.
The shop that installed my tint told me that.Has not at all damaged mine. As I recall, the outside of the window will touch the inside of the shade. Since film is on the inside of the window you'd think the film would remain undamaged. Mine is undamaged and unscratched.
I'm not questioning that at all.The shop that installed my tint told me that.
Ya in-channel shades scratch the #*%! out of your windows. Won't get them again. In my experience...
Cons for in channel: May cause scratches on top edge of glass. May also interfere with auto roll up features.
Stick ons: don't cover as much. Need to be regularly inspected for looseness. May detach without warning if conditions are right.
Pros: they all allow a window to be cracked open to let fresh air in, keep heat/rain out.
Can't comment on wind noise, as in my experience with opening windows is always the same; Can't hear **** cause wind is blasting into the cab.
