I'd only upgrade if there was a PHEV option, and even then I may not update. Def needs some interior upgrades and bed step. I don't hate my lariat gauge cluster.
I'm pretty much in the same boat. Without a PHEV option I wouldn't even consider trading. I love my 5G, it is paid for and I've had no problems with it. I don't have any problems with the Lariat cluster either.

Before I saw the awful front end I was more excited about the 6G, but if what we've seen thus far is the real deal, it will be hard to get me to upgrade.

I like my 2020.
I have no issues with the look of the 6G.
As soon as there is a PHEV I would have a look.
What would be the price & would it be worth it?

I'm eager to see the 6G PHEV with Pro Power Onboard. I plan to trade in my 5G for the PHEV after it has time to fix the teething issues. It is suppose to debut as a 2025 model year so a 2027 model year would be about right.

I plan on sticking with my 22 Lariat Scab 4x4 until there's a PHEV compact/mid-sized truck available. I had a rental from Ford when my truck was being worked on. I believe it was an Edge. It had the tablet infocenter or whatever it was called. I prefer the knobs and buttons to use. It's too distracting having a large tablet with little feedback while driving.

I'd like to wait and see what the online customization will provide but my truck is only one year old and I don't need to be trading it in already.

No 6G for me. My 5G has been perfect and does everything I want and need. No engine problems......no transmission problems......no electronics problems......very happy with mine!

I bought my 5G specifically because it was smaller than my F-150. Funny thing is, on the outside it is only slightly smaller. But on the inside -- whew! No storage to speak of, and if you have passengers in the cramped rear seat you have to bring your driver's seat forward to the point of being cramped as well. Going from a F-150 5.5 bed to a Ranger 5.0 bed sounds great on paper, but in usage the F-150 bed seems to hold twice as much. I'd like to see the 6G make better use and more room inside the cabin but retain exterior dimensions.
I've thought a lot about going back to an F-150 for these reasons. The interior storage really sucks on the 5G.

Waiting to see specs on the new power trains. Currently leaning toward a new Colorado/Canyon with 390 lb/ft of torque without a tune. I'll be interested to see if Ford takes that bait from GM.

No, simply because I don't throw money at cars like that. I buy them and keep them almost forever. I've had 6 cars in my life and I still own 3 of them.

You can get the 310HP/430TQ upgrade for $395 when ordering, quite a bit less than a tuner would cost.

All the Colorado HP/TQ ratings are with 87 octane fuel.

I'm curious what my fellow 5G members think about upgrading to the 6G. I listed my theoretical pros / cons below.

Pro:
- Possible next generation 2.3 ecoboost with direct and port injection
- Modernized interior with wireless carplay / android auto
- Possible 2.7 ecoboost availability
- Better HVAC control layout
- Bed side step
- Improved gauge cluster (Those of you with Lariats will appreciate this.)
- Most likely will offer integrated factory brake controller

Cons:
- Styling is questionable. Certainly not as recognizable as 5G
- More tech... more problems right?
- Gear shifter is 100% electronic... no mechanical linkage

I plan on upgrading mainly for the improved interior. Let me know what you think!
I think my current truck cost $40k and a comparable 6G truck will certainly cost way more than $40k. Not worth it even with an updated interior!
