I'm curious what my fellow 5G members think about upgrading to the 6G. I listed my theoretical pros / cons below.

Pro:
- Possible next generation 2.3 ecoboost with direct and port injection
- Modernized interior with wireless carplay / android auto
- Possible 2.7 ecoboost availability
- Better HVAC control layout
- Bed side step
- Improved gauge cluster (Those of you with Lariats will appreciate this.)
- Most likely will offer integrated factory brake controller

Cons:
- Styling is questionable. Certainly not as recognizable as 5G
- More tech... more problems right?
- Gear shifter is 100% electronic... no mechanical linkage

I plan on upgrading mainly for the improved interior. Let me know what you think!

I'd only upgrade if there was a PHEV option, and even then I may not update. Def needs some interior upgrades and bed step. I don't hate my lariat gauge cluster.

I like my 19 Lariat, and all my mods , I don't wanna go through all those mods again with retirement money, besides I dont even have 28k on mine and I won't get as good a deal as I did on this one let alone zero % for 72 months like I did on this one.

I'm gonna have to see one in person first. I must be in the minority, but I think the styling has become boring and I do not like the bed step.

count me in the "it's not mechanically enough of an improvement" camp. As in, I'd also be looking harder if there was a PHEV drivetrain option. I care less about the other differences. sounds like PHEV will come, but it'll be a bit. even when it does show up, I'll probably be waiting a bit to change trucks.

The styling is odd to me. Some of the models I've seen look good (especially the raptor, which I wouldn't buy anyway). But others I've seen look absolutely terrible. I certainly like some of the current rangers better than others (from a colors/accessories standpoint) but I don't hate any of them. on the new ones, the ones I like the least are definitely into the hate territory.

Nope. Don't like the look or value you get from Ford. Plus no more Fords for us after hearing the details of the new battery plant.

Based on the pictures I've seen so far, the Raptor version is the only one visually appealing to me when compared to my 21 Tremor. The dual injection motor is a plus, but the electronic transmission shifter is a minus to me. If they offer a manual transmission option like the Bronco, I will be more interested.

If in my traveling/camping I find that I need rear seats I'll upgrade IF they offer Long Bed CC...it'll take some doing to get over that hideous front end though.

Probably not, but that's mostly because I tend to drive my vehicles until they die, and I'd be very disappointed if this one died that quickly. We've averaged a little over 10 years per vehicle, so I'd expect them to be on at least 7G by then, unless they kill the brand again.

First I will answer the question, NO. I like the styling of my 2021. IMO, the front end on the new model....it looks like an F150 or a Maverick. Seems Ford is trying to make all their trucks look the same on the front.
Now a comment: Is it really a 6G?! Really a new generation of a Ranger? I say it is not. A different grill, change the lights a little bit....does not make it an entire new generation of Ranger. There is no radical design or size change. Just my observation.

Nope.

Bought my Chevy 2500 in April ‘98 and I still drive it.
Bought my Ranger in August ‘21, and it only has 26K miles on it.

Guess how long until I buy another truck????

3-5 years cause the ranger won't last as long as that chevy.
