the folks that mentioned the 6g being bigger im in the same boat on that. the full size trucks will not fit where i want to go. The 5g barely does and its a tight fit. if yall saw all the trail rash on my 5g - permanent cringing would take place lol. if the 5g was any wider i would not want it. any longer and it would not fit in my garage with the winch etc on the front. so its the max dimensions for me.

No!! Why would I trade my sharp looking, beautiful Lightening Blue, trouble free 5G for a butt ugly, bigger than necessary 6G.

I currently am awaiting on a '23 MY ordered after my engine ordeal. I don't have a delivery date at this time.
I am in a 2021 F150 at the moment.
My dealer knows I would prefer the new 6G (with a different engine if possible) and when the time comes, depending on circumstances etc, there will be a decision on what to do with the '23, and/or my current F150. If there was ever an example of sitting on the fence, I'm it.

I will probably just stick with my 5G. The interior doesn't feel any smaller than my 1997 extended cab F150. The main difference is bucket seats versus a bench seat. I think the 5g is only 5-6 inches narrower than the 97-02 F150. I do miss the long bed on my 97, it was 7 foot.

To be honest, I probably would have went with the Maverick if it would have been available at the time I bought the Ranger. I really don't need a bigger truck. And this is also why I will probably never own a newer full size truck in the future, they are just too big for me.

I had a 96 Ranger sitting in the driveway at the time I bought the 2020 Ranger and man did it seem like there was a very big difference in overall size between the two.

And if all trucks keep getting bigger then I won't be able to get in or out easily as my disabilities get worse with age.

Probably, since I don't want to keep it for 13 years and 200,000 plus miles like I did my old Sport Trac.
Circumstances dictated that I could not afford a new vehicle for a number of years.
Ford's quality is going to have to get better, although at the moment I don't know that it's any better or worse than anyone else's.
Then again, I may just restore a 1972 F-250. China hits us with an EMP blast from a balloon, I'll still be rolling.

Definitely not! If I have any more problems arise with this 22. I'll just sell it and go back to my old truck. 02 2500hd 343,000 miles and it's had fewer problems than my 8200 mile ranger. Definitely have not been impressed with my switch from GM to Ford.

in 1999 i drove an old chevy truck 1979. no electronic anything like we have today. on new years eve of course the buzz was all y2k millennium etc. I got home about 3 am on the first morning of the new year. about 7 am I get a phone call. It was dad saying he needed a ride as his new at the time buick was, "totally fing dead, y2k". At first I thought wow maybe some things will not work anymore... Drove over and found that pop had a dead battery, the buick was fine. the y2k glitch just drained his battery dead.

sad. a big part of why i got a new ranger is having an older one. the 4g and older rangers were great trucks. my 2005 ranger has only needed dealer work one time- the air bags recall. other than that it just keeps on rollin with basic up keep and consumable parts replacement. I expected similar of the 5g ranger. my only real issue with the 5g is transmission.

Maybe eventually, but not for a while. I love my Tremor. Just added the Ford performance tune, going to add cvf Downpipe, Rousch intake, and cvf Intercooler which should give 350hp, 400torque when done.

if got a 6g, it would have to be a raptor. Hard to want to spend that kind of money On a depreciating asset. Plus at the amount I drive I’ll have less than a 100,000 miles in ten years, by that time the 7g will be out

I'm curious what my fellow 5G members think about upgrading to the 6G. I listed my theoretical pros / cons below.

Pro:
- Possible next generation 2.3 ecoboost with direct and port injection
- Modernized interior with wireless carplay / android auto
- Possible 2.7 ecoboost availability
- Better HVAC control layout
- Bed side step
- Improved gauge cluster (Those of you with Lariats will appreciate this.)
- Most likely will offer integrated factory brake controller

Cons:
- Styling is questionable. Certainly not as recognizable as 5G
- More tech... more problems right?
- Gear shifter is 100% electronic... no mechanical linkage

I plan on upgrading mainly for the improved interior. Let me know what you think!
No sir. Little scared of lack of qc at Ford right now. My 21 is doing great and payment is cheap. Maybe look at one of the GMC twins later this year but no hurry.
