Hey all,
I've been going through this site since I found it and have liked what I see.

I purchased a 2022 ranger FX4 in October. Love the truck, and the size is great for city driving too.

Recently there has been a whistling noise coming from the engine while accelerating.

It seems to start at 1800 rpm while accelerating around 50 kph. It can also be heard when you put your foot into to pass. I have read similar threads to see it they are similar but I camt find anything similar. The sounds is not made while not moving with the hood up reving the engine.
I camt see any hoses off amd they all appear to be in good shape.

I have video attached below.

Your input would be welcomed.

Maybe an air leak in the intake piping. Check clamps and fittings for tightness.

From your written description, regular turbo noise was the first thing I thought of. After playing the clips, I was thinking how it sounds like my truck when the turbo is spooling up. A smooth whistle that increases and decreases with throttle.

Turbo noise on these trucks is relatively faint but noticeable, especially with an aftermarket CAI or if you don’t have the foam engine cover. If it was happening at idle or was very loud and sharp, I’d have it checked.

Off topic note: When looking at the scenery in your first video, I had a hunch, looked over at your profile details, and it was confirmed. Nowhere else looks quite like Saskatchewan . 👍

One time, I was driving my rental out of the Regina airport to a reservoir (Buffalo Pound maybe?) and I swear I could see the Calgary Tower on the horizon.

You should not be hearing a turbo whistle on a stock system. If you do, you have clamp that is not seated properly between the pressure side of the turbo and the throttle body. The clamps may all be tightened, but if not on the hoses correctly they may leak just enough to let a bit of pressurized air to whistle out. Same thing happens on aftermarket pipes too ...[/QUOTE]
