Did you ever decide on which kayak mounts? I'm having trouble determining which ones work with the Elevate.
Ended up getting the 22” foam blocks from Salamander paddle gear. They work really good on the Elevate cross bars.

Which style did you get? They look like they fit over the bars pretty well. I was thinking the SUV or XSUV ones should work.

When I need the bed for gear I use this roof level pivotable T-bar (great part), hitch extender (so the gate can be fully dropped) and the stubby antenna (so I don't have to be concerned about hitting the tall OEM antenna). The slings are good for centering the kayak. I've had other rack mounted kayak mounts and sometimes when it got hot up there the kayak deformed at the mounts. Fortunately the shape came back after sitting it on the ground, gunnels down on a couple of 2 X 4's with a sunny day. Don't like carting plastic kayak around on their keels.
When going to my local lake I put the kayak upside down in the bed. That's when I use a bed level extender T-bar. Two lines hold the exposed end of the kayak to either side of the truck. Simple!
Don't forget the play safe "Idiot Warning Flag' and may be required by your locality.

Crafting a kayak rack for my RV has never been simpler. Utilize a cargo carrier, bed extender, steel tubes, pool noodles, dual hitch, and anti-rattle stabilizers for a versatile solution. Not only can it securely transport kayaks, but I can also use it for other storage needs.

I just picked up my first kayak on Monday. I used the Pioneer Wrap Pads and a couple of cam straps to mount it to my Rhino Rack.

What’s the most economic cab height rack that is compatible with a hard tonneau? I want it just for a canoe (happy to put foam mounts under the front on the cab). Would love to be able to bring it while towing. To date I’ve just thrown in the bed with an extender. Not feasible while towing.

I have had a variety of set ups over the years but this one works great. Thule bars and a stacker on the roof. Upside of a stacker, depending on your boat, is it's the strongest way to tie your boat. Also, you have the bar space to lay the boat up on then climb up to secure. The J racks are a bit more work sometimes. We travelled about 3000 kms last summer with this set up. Never bothered with a bow line, never had an issue.

Yep, after I turned 70. Loading/unloading a hundred lb+ kayak (every weekday) on the roof isn't going to happen too easily.
I have one of those hitch extenders as well. They are fantastic! My boats are under 50 lbs each so still able to manage the roof at this point. (57, almost 58) :)

I have the Adarac M series. It's only 12" high but they have a higher version as well. You need to drill for the side rails on top of the box but it's an awesome rack system and tonneau compatible.
