  1. Your rig in epic camp sites!

A few sprinkles, nothing significant. Most of the drive out to Tuweep was nice gravel roads, but the last few miles are a bit more technical. This is probably the first time I’ve put any of my suspension mods or the big chunky tires to real use.
  2. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Last week I drove out across the Arizona Strip to Tuweap campground and Toroweap Overelook. Most of the drive is relatively nice gravel roads, but the last miles or so gets a bit technical. I was glad for my suspension mods and big chunky tires. The next day we headed over to Mount Trumbull...

Tuweep Campground In the western Grand Canyon.
  4. Blackeagle’s Build Thread

It’s a Baja Designs LED Dome Light. https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/led-dome-light-with-switch/?sku=398051 The shop that installed it for me (Dixie 4WD in St. George, UT) fabbed the bracket and wired it in.
  5. Blackeagle’s Build Thread

The other new addition is a weBoost. Dixie 4WD did a nice job fabbing a bracket that keeps it below the level of my roof rack when it's folded down.
  6. Blackeagle’s Build Thread

I finally got a lighting setup installed on my ranger. Some bumper lights: And some ditch lights: They're obnoxiously bright, which is kind of the idea. That said, this is probably the light that I'll end up getting the most use out of: It's installed on the inside of the...

According to the invoice, they're Method MR70178560500, which I think are 0 offset? Sorry, like I said it's been a bit since I had these installed.

Nitto Recon Grappler (compromise between off-road capability and good on-road manners) 33x12.5.
  10. Blackeagle’s Build Thread

New 33" tires on new 17" rims (posting this a bit late, I actually got these last summer).
  11. What rock sliders do you have? Lets see them!

I asked Hot Metal Fab to powder coat them for me. They warned that they probably wouldn’t arrive in pristine condition due to getting banged around in transit and sure enough there was a pretty good scratch on one of them. I don’t care. They’re there to get beat up, after all. With the...
  12. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I spent the past week at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. My Ranger and Escapod teardrop trailer. One of the days I was there I drove out to Fire Point, the North Bass Trailhead, and Point Sublime. These are on some pretty rugged dirt roads and in spots there were fallen trees that...
  13. Blackeagle’s Build Thread

I installed a set of Redline hood struts (aka front dampers).
  14. Long Range America Tank

Interesting. The only filling problem I've had is the pump cutting off when it gets to $100 (or $75 in one case). However, I think I've only tried to top up with the gauge above full one time.
  15. Long Range America Tank

I got my Long Range America tank installed week before last. During my trip out to Texas for the eclipse I tried to use the trip odometer and MPG numbers to figure out how the reading on the fuel gauge corresponds to the amount in the tank. Here's what I came up with: Gauge Gallons F...
  16. Blackeagle’s Build Thread

Week before last I got my Long Range America tank installed down at Rogue Offroad in Vegas. I did a road trip out to Texas for the eclipse and the range with the new gas tank is just tremendous.
  17. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I got back from a trip to Texas to view the eclipse.
  18. Honda Attempts Suicide By Ranger

I haven't had any need to talk to Ford about my warranty since adding the bumper.
  19. Broken leaf spring

I’m running the same setup; Eibach Stage 2R front coilovers and rear shocks and Icon leaf springs. Big improvement over the stock suspension.
