What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Received this today…

I don’t like their piece meal approach to sealing lower and upper corners (cut a small piece and slap it here, another on an angle there…) so I may need to get a bit more creative.

Maybe I’ll just seal the main gaps/seams to keep the majority of the dust out. I don’t have water entering from the tailgate and really not that much dust but I sure hate seeing daylight through those gaps on the sides of the tailgate.

These kits are cheap - we’ll see how it goes.

Yours was delivered quicker than mine. Was supposed to be here yesterday, but Amazon gave it to USPS so no telling when/if I’ll get it. ??

Got mine installed this morning. I have the drop-in bedliner and tailgate cover, so my install method would be different from yours. However, there might be an idea or two you could take away from it for areas that don’t involve the bedliner or cover.

This showed up this afternoon. Won’t be able to get to install until I finish staining the deck I started this morning.

I’ve got to get it installed before next weekend because that seal kit will get a real test on miles of dry dusty Cherokee National Forest roads. Found a new camping spot right on a nice brook trout river.

I have one too. It was in an old tool box my grandfather gave me.
I found it when I was putting my first modification on my Bronco. Being that it was the first new vehicle I’ve ever bought myself and it was afforded by working our asses off for our small family business. A pretty proud moment and knew he was looking down on me proud as well.

Had to join the club. I have the anti theft lock on the passenger hinge. Figured adding this to the drivers side would make it that much harder for someone to steal.

I honestly thought the install would take longer than it did.

Sounds like it was easy - no worries about denting the tailgate? Knowing me, I'd somehow drop it against the bumper, hitch, and/or ground!

Easy enough as a one-person job?

I've contemplated it but naively figure I'm in a safe area (although a catalytic converted was chopped off the house behind me - but it was a Honda ...).

I guess I worry enough about my tail lights that I rarely leave the tail gate open at night (only if I have brush for the dump).

Any advice you have is appreciated - thanks! =)

Looks like you could rebuild the entire car from the ground up with that kit. Including the motor.

I did it solo in under 15 minutes while watching the kids run around. I keep the tailgate closed and locked with a hard cover over the bed that's also closed. So it would be a challenge to steal my tailgate to begin with. But I'm still paranoid with some places I've lived.

As long as you follow the instructions no risk of damage that i can see. I just made sure to move the tailgate slowly while I was doing it, especially with the cable removed. You only ever have one connection removed at a time.

So if you did it in 15 minutes while keeping an eye out on the kids .. 2 gozinto 5 ... carry the 3 ... so with no kids, I give myself an hour! =D
