My Ranger never had one. Is your battery blanket anything like that? I’m surprised you don’t have a plug in battery blanket where you are. ?
The dealership installed this battery on warranty, so I hope they didn't leave it off if it came with one. I don't remember seeing a cover on the original battery but didn't actually check to see. I've never had battery before with a cover and this might be because we are in the high desert and not needed in this climate. My 2019 has the same type cloth cover as in post 5,629 above. I was able to reuse it on the new battery I installed a week or so ago. I'm not sure what purpose it serves, any one know?
I thought installing the new battery might be a pain but it went in fine, not a Ford battery but same characteristics .

Mine came with the nice, warm & toasty battery blanket. I also got the factory hood struts...and oem brake fluid, washer fluid, and cold air intake snorkel. Ford also gave me the much sought after upgraded engine cooling package, (aka engine cover delete) at no extra charge. ?mine came with the cover also. i assumed it was something to do with securing the battery from moving. Im not sure honestly. Never seen one on a battery before now. guess its like a artificial hug to help the battery buck up and deal with the fact it will never get a full charge out of the 5g unless its been forescan hacked lol.

Yeah, I've seen them on a few Fords. I suspect just for minor insulation from engine compartment heat, which is bad for batteries. They have no part in holding down the battery. This is "felty", some are "puffy". Probably cost 10 cents, so they delete them. That 10 cents paid for @P. A. Schilke 's pension. Tortoise food ain't cheap?Trevor,
Do you know what the purpose of the cover is for...freeze protection...electrical protection...keep them from moving around? I have previously bought and installed quite a few batteries myself and none of them came with covers.
Dang, I need to delete the picture of my dirty engine bay. Yours looks nice and clean!Mine came with the nice, warm & toasty battery blanket. Crud, clearly I need to order this thing, ugh ...I too have the battery blanket on my 2020. I believe no deletes on the 2020. After that FORD really cheeped out.
Mandatory item to make dump runs.Crud, clearly I need to order this thing, ugh ...
BUT OH CRAP ... it's on backorder, must be about to skyrocket in price! =(

Checked this morning - mine has that same cover - I guess I didn’t think it had one because of how the one on my VW covers the entire battery, including the terminals and connections. Not quite as covered.
