What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Drove the Ranger to Frederick Maryland to get five bundles of frozen rats. Traffic was nasty on interstate 295 and 95. 80 MPH is too slow on those two Race tracks. Secondary roads from Warrenton up to the Maryland line were rainy and wet but much better and much less speed than a NASCAR track. Snacked on PBJ and hard boiled egg with sharp yellow cheese and water Just before loading the rats. Topped the Ranger off with 93 at Sheetz and headed back south. Ranger ran superbly as always. 422 miles round trip and 11 hours in the seat. Stopped at Delaplane Cellars for a glass of grape juice and ended up taking a bottle home with me. Got back in town near home and transferred the rats to the rehab guy. Had a cheesesteak sub with fries washed down with a Heineken in a frosty mug. Tucked the Ranger safely back into the carport successfully and no smashed venison today. WINNING!!!!!

I had the same one. It was the one where you could keep pumping it up to get more pressure for longer shots and the ones now you can't do that. I guess they figured out it was to dangerous to have us kids running around with our BB guns all pumped to the max. lol

That was actually two different eagles. I have rescued probably 24 to date. Close to a dozen owls, several different types of hawks, several osprey, and a few blue herons.
Seeing an eagle is pretty exciting, handling them is most incredible, and getting to free release one after rehabilitation is even better than that.
The top picture is the guy that rehabilitates them. That is his educational eagle, Helena.

That is awesome Joel….and thank you for doing what you do to help them!

I had the same one. It was the one where you could keep pumping it up to get more pressure for longer shots and the ones now you can't do that. I guess they figured out it was to dangerous to have us kids running around with our BB guns all pumped to the max. lol

I still have my .22 Benjamin pellet gun, and I shoot a few pellets in it every year. I believe it had a leather gasket for the air chamber, if so, still going strong. Most of the bluing is worn off (I suppose it's not regular bluing since it's all brass).

So not today, about 2 weeks ago. Some of you know that I put in "grass pavers." They were about $1,000 but they're made in the US . . .

Well, this is embarrassing, but I don't care.

We got about 2 feet of snow, I used the snow blower and cleared the driveway and behind the truck as it was parked on said grass pavers.

I was backing up and swung the front end out into the yard and the snow (there was already a foot of old snow under the recent 2 foot snow fall) and ... you guessed it, Soupie's 2WD got stuck! I mean really stuck!

I rocked back and forth, turned traction control on and off, and was this close to busting out the snow chains. Except the passenger side was in the 3 feet of snow.

I took out my avalanche shovel and dug. Still no luck. If I remember right, it was 5° and all the spinning out melted some of the snow which quickly froze into a big chunk too big to bust with the shovel.

So I pulled out my GoTreads (foldable traction boards). Well, one of them shot out into the street, about 30 feet! But finally, the traction board on the passenger side did the trick (then buried itself and didn't show up for about a week when a bit of snow melted).

And the reason for being stuck on a totally flat spot ... the plastic grass pavers!

No grip on them, it's like being on Teflon! =D
