I fell your pain, I had that happen to my mulch once. The whole side of the house looked like someone threw black pepper all over it all the way up to the gutters! I looked it up online and saw it was a huge problem from siding, pvc fences and on cars where they parked them in the driveway close to the mulch. One poor guy just installed a huge white pvc fence around his property and mulched all around it and within a month it was ruined. I tried everything to get it off and nothing works so I dug it all out and luckily lived in the woods so I dumped it deep in there and replaced it with red crushed brick.Took a load of contaminated mulch to the dump. Artillery fungi are the worst.
Surprisingly not over payload.

I like the look of it and you can change the colors which was nice but it's a lot of work re-doing it every couple years. The stone is nice because it's one and done but it is expensive and holds a lot of heat if you have plants in them. The artillery fungus tends to grow more on the north side of the house where there's a lack of sun. It thrives in moisture and if you have irrigation for your lawn (which I did) it can/will happen on the other sides too but usually not as bad.I knew there was a reason I don’t like mulch.
My neighbor got tired of doing the mulch every year so they went the stone route and I helped them move like 20 ton of stone with my Kubota. My yard had 34 sprinklers and was like a golf course so I couldn't use anything large like that. I was lucky because my neighbor had all the heavy equipment if I ever had to do anything that required it. I bought one of those DR Power Wagons with the tilt bed for working around the yard. I use to heat with coal so I'd get a truckload delivered then use the wagon to move it around without ruining the yard or sprinklers. My neighbor got tired of doing the mulch every year so they went the stone route and I helped them move like 20 ton of stone with my Kubota. Stone - that’s one of the things I miss about AZ. If I did that here, Mrs. DukeCanBuildit would have me changing the colour and type of stone, quarterly.I fell you pain, I had that happen to my mulch once. The garage side was the side covered in the artillery fungus and it even stretched around the back by the first slider.

Plus, I have a 20kw generator that is driven by the PTO on the Kubota.I’m all for any reason to play on the tractor.
Thanks. I miss the house and privacy of having 3 acres with a barn. But I don't miss taking care of 250' of driveway every winter. The lawn got to be a chore cutting it every 4-5 days and expensive to maintain that look and then there's the high taxes (they don't call it Taxachusetts for nothing) and don't even get me started on the dumb gun laws there!Beautiful home
