Had a bit of an adventure yesterday. Portland, OR, received its second highest snowfall on record. Got a call from the missus at 4pm who was stuck in it and had to abandon the old Mazda B Series by the side of the freeway. RWD no good. Saddled up the Ranger and bravely headed off into the eye of the storm on a rescue mission lol. Her phone died but eventually found her. Then it took us 5-6 hours to get home to her mum’s, normally a 25 min trip. Like the end of the world out there. Cars abandoned and stuck everywhere (never buy a Prius lol they were truly lost). And I’ve never seen a truck jackknife before. Luckily it was on the opposite side of the freeway which was sheet ice. Makes you realize how close we are to chaos if Mother Nature decides to have a tantrum. Anyway, God bless the Ranger which got us home safely. It was a true champ. And fair play to the stock Hankooks! Never been so glad to have a 4x4.

Yeah, snow like that cripples cities but the Ranger will plow right through. It's the stuck cars that make it a pain in the ass.

This right here brings back so many memories of living back east. I know it doesn't happen every winter but having lived through 50+ years of this and then snowmobiling in upper Maine and Canada I'm glad I don't have to deal with it now. Then there's always that one knucklehead who "thinks" because he has 4wd he can still drive fast in it. ?‍♂

It's extremely hot here in the summers and I know a cliché but you don't have to shovel sunshine!:sun::tumbleweed:

Winter 2010 Detroit Michigan...trying to get to work and spent two hours on a ice covered I-94...traveled 1/2 miles and figured it would take me two days to get to office...got off the next exit and went home...

The one knucklehead I saw...driving 60 on sheet ice while trucks were jackknifed on the other side...was...drum roll...A TACO driver!

Not at all surprising. They were dumb enough to buy a Taco I wouldn't expect them to be smart enough to drive slow on ice. ?

Was a slippery road with snow and ice here. A Hilux passed me very quickly. I ignored.
Suddenly I hear from passenger seat serious voice “That Taco was driving like it’s his last day has arrived!”. That sounded so funny.

I too got to use my Ranger in the Snow here in the Portland metro area. I went out at 10 at night when almost no one was out. Wow my 5G Ranger was awesome. I went for a 1/2 hour loop testing Lucille out. I like my new Cooper AT3's. I had 10" of snow at my house. Apparently at the Portland airport they had the second most snow in a day at 10.8". The record was 14.something. I love it. The last two are my front driveway and back yard of my property .

Snow level down to 700 feet here last night.
This happens very seldom, once every 10 years or so.
The Ranger Tremor wanted to see this white stuff.
Off we went.
Came across an abandoned Rivian that slid off the road.
Looked like he was going too fast for conditions.
Thought I might get a chance to put my winch to work.
But no one around the vehicle, 4-way flashers on but that was it.

We went to the home show at the stadium. Glad we got there right as it opened as the line to get it wrapped around the back. It was senior discount day from 10-12 and they were all lined up waiting for their $2.00 off discounts. lol
