It turns 1 this week. I wanted to celebrate. :) Really, I wanted to see how comfortable it is on longer trips. I may take it on a 3k mile drive the wife and I are taking in a few weeks.

Pepper ran me to the eye Dr this morning (3rd visit in a week, but 1st time I drove myself). Poked by a dried cornflower whilst cleaning up the wildflower garden last Tues. Dr put in a "bandage contact lens"? Never heard of them. 2 cornea scratches, 1 pretty bad, hurt like hell. Took it out today and said it's almost fully healed! He said the cornea makes a new surface every 7 days, who knew? Over 30 yrs in the steel plant and foundries, I warned and disciplined so many guys for not wearing safety glasses (foreign body-eye was always our #1 dispensary case). Now my wife is disciplining me:crazy: Pepper also keeps reminding me her tank is low!

a 1000 miles huh in a year huh?
better trade it in, that first oil change is still 9 years away
Pretty sure it will have over 4k in a couple weeks. It gets about 5 mpg less than my wife's CX-5 turbo, but the Ranger is more comfortable. Even with those shitty FX4 shocks!

Yeah, not changing oil using mileage as the determining factor.

I drove to my first job interview since relocating to Florida at the end of February. Fingers crossed; it's with a Ford Dealership in my area. I'm leaving law enforcement behind!
OH BOY...you'll get the LEO discount and the employee discount !!!:like:

This is great news John - you can break things at a discount now.

And you can use some of your training in the new job…

In the Service Advisor area….”Please step out of the vehicle”

In the Finance office….”It’s for your protection as well as mine”

In the Service Bay…”Step back, there’s nothing to see here”

I had a relative who didn't wear safety glasses when doing some metal work. The result was that the doctors used some big ass electromagnet to pull out the metal shrapnel out from the cornea. Lucky for him no permanent damage.

I also have a relative who chose his hunting partner badly. That friendship ended when the doctor used a magnet and pincers to remove all those ~150 steel balls from his back. Lucky for him the lead balls were banned by that time and the game was birds. (about 60% hit rate to a man size target).
