Went out to run some errands and stopped at Westgate (entertainment area) for lunch. After the appetizer of nachos we couldn't even eat lunch. These are a meal in itself. ?

Another Friday, but not another grocery getting day.

Got up at 4:30 AM, left the house around 5:45, ate breakfast at McDonald's (darn good sausage biscuit w/cheese) and then drove 1-1/2 hours to a shop in North Georgia to pick up two homemade steel/cast iron? sawhorses that a friend of my late father helped me get them off of a piece of property that I inherited.

Dad probably fabricated these at Kraft Foods when he worked maintenance there from the early 1960s to the 1980s.

I got back home and started to replace the original battery in the wife's Ford Escape, only to discover the dealership had sold me the wrong battery. The Ranger got used for the trip back to the dealership, too. No pictures of that, I was a little aggravated, lol.

I've had my Ranger for almost a full year and I clicked over 1,900 miles this afternoon. :O

Fox Ford Performance leveling kit installed by Big O today for $347.46, including alignment. Doing a test drive to make sure no bolts come flying off.....so far, so good! I'm on the back roads in Sedona, AZ-I believe I'm in full flex. In the second picture, the rear tire is off the ground. Though I'll never be quite sure, I think my wife might even be impressed with the new shocks. :turkey:

Thanks to all for their input and help regarding the cost of installation for the leveling kit (see link below):

I'm close, but am not yet desperate enough to eat a Javelina.
Tastes like chicken? Seriously though great scenery. Been to Mexico a few times myself, always fantastic scenery, and friendly locals once you get away from the big towns.

I cleaned the beast, drove out to the state fairgrounds and staked out my spot for the weekend for the 40th annual 4 wheel and offroad jamboree! I entered in the show and shine competition, judging from 10am to 6pm, results announced Sunday afternoon. You could eat off the engine compartment lol. The trucks cleaner than when I bought it in late 2018. I don't have the heart to run thru the mud bog...well unless the judge mine early and I have time to kill LOL. I was in the very 1st Jamboree in 1982, have a 2nd place plaque I won and my dash plate, taking both with me. I'll post some pics as the weekend goes by, there are alot of massive old Fords out there! I was going to do the mobile dyno they have but they lost power, I'll just look up a local one later, be interested to see what my HP and torque are after the tune, cold air kit and cat-back exhaust.

I hope you have a log splitter Gary! That looks like a lot of work.
I do have a log splitter. I have about 36 face cords of wood split at the moment and hope to have 38 face cords tomorrow. That is two winter’s supply, plus wood for my evaporator and ice hut.

That picture looks pretty much like Finland in late summer. But now we're already having brown/yellow leaves on some birches and some places already got their first snow. I'll now refer Ontario as Finland after global warming.

Bet we got more lakes than Ontario tho (168000 to be exact).
The picture with the truck was taken almost 3 hours north of me.

The attached picture taken just a few days ago is what it looks like around me.

My gawd man, Mennonites go through less wood. You’ve been busy!

Took an off-road driving class today in the Catskill Mountains in NY taught by NORA. Learned a lot and had a good time. Mostly Jeeps, one Tacoma, and my Tremor. I think the Ranger kept up though I was glad I had removed the steps from my Tremor as I bet they would have been caught on a rock!

That is really nice and looks like Estonia. Which is 20-45 min boat ride south from Finland (due to former alcohol tax free reasons the common there and back ferry normally takes 22 hours)

Here in Finland the forests are biodiversity poor due to King of Sweden enforcing forestry law back in 16th century ruling that forest which has been cut down must be replanted and the allowed planting species are pine, spruce, birch and aspen*. All Oaks were kings property and used for building the Swedish fleet. That ruling carried through the years in the law and up until 3-5 years ago the law allowed for only those 4 species to be grown.

After the law change we can now use: pine, spruce, birch, aspen, Russian larch, maple, alder, oak, elm, linden and ash. Plus you can do what ever you wish for 0.3ha/year (like plant black walnut or beech).

Change is slow so I'd expect we got more natural like forests somewhere in 23rd century or so. Funny thing is that the green party tries to prevent this by trying to reduce wood cutting.

* = Pines for tar, spruce for lumber, birch for firewood and asp for furniture, plates, ect.

P.S. I've not yet decided the fate of next years 0.3ha... but I've got order for 300 red oaks :)

Mike, Enjoy the jamboree - your truck is sure to get a lot of attention, especially from the judges. It will be the nicest Ranger at the show, so I‘m sure it will do well in the competition.

It would be nice to know what those dyno figures turn out to be. Looking forward to pics from the weekend!

Thanks Duke! I've yet to see another 5th Generation Ranger but that should change today. Seen several lifted older Rangers.

They only have 1 guy judging every 4x4, he's going to have a long day. Trucks ready for him, then I can go walk around and get more pics, but here is my Ranger so far and a coon dog Uber driver in a giant RC CAR. I'll try to get a video of him next time.
