$400 drop fridge slide? Heck no. $16 piano hinge and a custom frame? yes?

This is proof of concept. I have to move it left a little to clear the hinge and slide it back so it clears the door. Now that I know it works I can use better wood than what I had lying around.

My neighbor took his truck through the local automatic carwash.

It removed his antenna and proceeded to beat the driver side of his truck with it.

He had to lay on the horn to get anyone to realize that something was wrong.

The carwash paid to fix everything but he was without his truck for 3 weeks.

I only use touchless lazer washes. Took my Super Duty through a Metro once and thought it was going to rip the hood off!

Oh I agree. I was just saying instead of paying yourself (adding it to a low interest savings account) I'd put those payments into a Mutual Fund where you'll get more growth over the years. Then take the money out for the new vehicle and you should still have a lot more in there to grow.

Take the low financing (sub 3%) and make more in your MF and use the gains to pay it off monthly. I hate loans and haven't had one in years but I always use "free" money when it makes sense.

Sadly most vehicles made today are not meant to last long as we've seen by the many videos posted here.

I bought my Ranger with a heloc two years ago. Couldn't sell the Super Duty first so when it sold I put that money towards the principle. After 23 months we went from $32K to $5700 since the interest rate plummeted and we could put so much more to principle. Minimum payment was over $200 at first and when Trump got elected it ended up being around $60! Best financial decision I ever made!

Didn't cause any happiness for me! My '21 has the electronic locking axle, the '22 does not. Could that be a factor? Do any of the other Forum members have info on their Rangers? Model, year, etc. Start a whole new thread??

Those sliders work great! I've used several pairs with up to 200 lb capacities for various projects with great success.

And I've used piano hinges on several projects as well. One being my sun tracker for my solar oven. I got tired of moving (to keep optimal solar focus) it every 20 minutes when cooking meals. I needed to determine the optimal angle for 2 small solar panels, and the piano hinge allowed me the test, and set for the best sensitivity.
