Nice job, but what's this manual you speak of? o_O

I have to admit I've never once read any owners manual from my cars, trucks, motorcycles or snowmobiles. I have glanced at the maintenance section but other than that I've never looked at one. Especially when forums became more common it was easier (for me) to go there and find any answers I might of needed. Then YouTube became the go to because everyone now makes a video for just about everything from vehicles to coffee makers. lol

I will admit (even as a kid) I was never big into reading books and can only think of a couple I've read in my lifetime. I loose interest easily and fall asleep! I've always been a hands on and try and figure it out type.

While putting everything in the new binder, I actually looked at mine to figure out some things with the radio, like why it can't play songs on an album in order off my iPod, so annoying ?. So I needed to know what icons meant what function to try and rectify the "issue" lol.

That would've kept me up all night. lol

Seriously, I just go into the screen and start going through each one and seeing what's in there. Usually you can't mess anything up as long as you don't hit save you can (most times) hit the back tab and get out of that area.

Yeah, that front end is way nicer than the 24+ Ranger front end. Maybe VW will bring it before the model ends, but looks like price will be higher, and I guess if it did some to the US the engine options would be the same 2.3, 2.7 and 3.0 that the new Rangers have since they are already emission tested here, and I'm not sure Ford wants VW putting a diesel in a truck connected to Ford bound for US sales after the diesel-gate issues in the past.

Through a lucky trade at work I got rid of my OEM xlt wheels I wasn't using and got a set of Vison 354 Manx 2 +12 I just had to buy lug nuts and centering rings. When I need tires next I might upgrade to Lt285/70R17s for a little more clearance though I am pretty happy with how the truck performs off road right now. 99% of what I do is flat trails so more for just looks I guess

More of a what I DIDN"T do to my Ranger, glad it wasn't my truck. Lady pulled way out from side road and into my lane. Could have been like Dave & RIP MP1

Installed an auxbeam switch. Just need to paint the filler plate to match.

Looks nice! If I may ask, was it tough routing the cable up there and/or tough with general installation?

Another question, as I'm looking to install mine soon too, where/how did you mount the switch unit in the engine bay?

Aside from getting the cable through the firewall grommet, the installation was pretty straight forward. I ran the cord up the A pillar and tucked it under the headline, at the windshield. Given the weather, I can't get a pic of the install under the hood, but I mounted the bracket to the radiator support bracket. So the fuse box is vertical.

There is no going back now... To get the mount off the mirror you have to do some breaking... or... at least I did. I am going to figure out how to make the Wolfbox G930 work with the OE mirror mount. I have a few parts on order for tomorrow that will get me moving again.

Replaced the spark plugs and spark plug boots now that I’m nearing 100k miles(84,368 currently). All four loosened easily, though I noticed #3 and #4 were a tad bit rough initially. I lined them up 1-2-3-4 in the photos left to right, as well as their associated boots.

Any sign of moisture in the plug wells? Do you have an engine cover?

No engine cover. I saw no signs of moisture or of water possibly having entered the area. Earlier this year I did add some sealant to the wiper shroud area where water seems to drip from. The boots I was also surprise to see how clean they were when removing them. While it should be surprising seeing as how they are in an enclosed area, I expected them to look a lot worse after 84k miles.

Final winter prep. Last week I dry siliconed the door seals and tonneau cover. It did make the tailgate easier to open, but the tonneau was hopelessly frozen. I sprayed gobs of alcohol on it (would have been more effective had I drunk alcohol instead of all this mess). =D

Finally pulled out the heat gun to get the thing to roll open. Bah! =(

I never know how much water I get in there, I think it's at capacity, or a little above. They say to aim for 3 inches thick ... but with our poorly engineered bed rake, I can't tell (Toyota bump stops would fix that extreme rake issue for sure!). =p

So it should be over 300 pounds. You can feel it driving as far as bumps go.

Last year I added 5 gallons of RV antifreeze, they say you only need two. What a big fat lie. With 5 it still froze solid. But they also say you don't need to add anything, so I didn't.

prep takes the longest - bonus: spray bottle sprayer head fits on my alcohol bottles

checked the tire chains, oiled them in the summer and added some semi-waterproof gloves (I had frostbite on my hands and feet as a teen, so the cold really stings) but Soupie helps me compensate for being a girly-man =p

LOL, overkill but they were handy, so the front tie downs are these little bow shackles

starting to fill, had to turn the outside bib back on - now not to forget to shut it off and drain the pipe in the basement!

only spilled about a cup of water closing it up, and secured with a few cords in the back

yep, can still open the SwingCases, you just have to step on that corner of the bladder while you swing it out. also, no worries about Soupie's winter dump runs, I toss the tarp over it and it can supposedly handle up to 500 pounds. i did a few small runs last winter without any issues

and a nearly full moon! a-oooooo =D

Open box Turbosmart recirculating (non whoosh :frown:). Install went fine, but their directions are a little vague, only fits one way tho. Loctite not needed, those suckers are on tight and snug ?
