Looks like the pins/sockets are not seated all the way in the connector. You should not be able to see the metal that is exposed in your picture. That is a short waiting to happen. Could be why the connector is not making good contact. I have heard they are a pain to get seated properly.

I used a pair of pliers to push it in and that’s all it went every time in every direction

Posted this yesterday, but not sure why my text didn’t show up with the pics. Got a bath and changed the gear oil in the rear end. Yes only 3,400 miles, but it had a good amount of break-in metal floating around. So for $15 and a few minutes, why not lol?

Any chance that you soldered the wires to the pins?

I made a new harness for my Jeep a few days ago and figured I'd solder everything. Darn solder crawled into places it should have & I could not get the pins to go all the way in to the connector. I tried filing the solder off, the pins went in but wouldn't lock. Luckily I had ordered extra pins so I just cut them off and crimped the wires on the new ones. All was good after that.

On the back of the molex pins there's a little tab. This is what locks the pin into the connector. When you soldered the pin, you probably filled the tab with solder. It will never lock if this happens, as you found out. You can solder it, just have to be careful.

Installed electronics for about 30 years. AND YES, I'VE DONE THE SAME THING BEFORE

Yup, that's exactly what happened! But it all turned out good in the end. I didn't have to cut any factory wiring and the new piece I installed is truly plug & play.

Bath, clay barred the hood and front right quarter (thanks sprinklers) and graphene. Worth it. Thanks kids for setting off the security cam, I forgot to take a picture.

I brushed snow off it :( because I woke up to this…

which isn’t so bad because it brings scenes like this…

and this…

but, unfortunately, those come with this…

I guess a morning swim is out of the question - time to shut down for the season. So today, I’ll start loading up the Ranger with most of the things that need to go back home, take it for drive into town for gas and over to drop off empty cookie containers at mom’s. Yep, at 83, she still makes me cookies. Then a trip to see our Winter Watch guy to pay him and let him know we’re closing up.

Thanks Steve. There are always baked goods of some kind for sure. They say that as we age, we become just like our parents and whenever Mom has a container of treats for me, I teasingly call her by her mother’s first name because there is one memorable thing my grandmother did that my mom has started doing and it makes me smile and think of her.

And that thing is, using and re-using the same sheet of wax paper to line a cookie tin time and time again, until it has more wrinkles than smooth spots. ?

My idea of old school waxing involves my brother with our mom’s clothes iron and a lot of yelling. I never waxed my skis back then. They were way too long and heavy but they were on sale and all we could afford. I didn’t care and still flew down the hills like I was Spider Sabich. ?
I too used an old iron and waxed my ski's. I still have that old iron and my skis but haven't been up since i had my hip replaced two and a half years ago. maybe it's time to get up there. I sure miss it.

I have a neighbor who skiis after his hip replacement. I will get my synvisc shots in my left knee in Dec which should keep me pain free for most of the season.

Get out there Mark. I hadn’t skied downhill in about 25 or 30 years and some friends were going so I thought I’d join them. Rented equipment and with the “new” parabolic skis, it was like I’d never missed a season.

The before image
1000004041.webp

Removed the air dams from the front wheels, Tuffskinz red letter inlays on the grill, and Custom Auto Works raptor grill lights
1000004036.jpg

Had to remove the velossatech flair from the funnel, it's in the way of the light bracket. It all fits without the flair, though, much of which is hidden by the bracket so I'm opting to keep it more sleeper style on that for now.

Airflow can't hurt so I'll leave the funnel in place.

1000003969.jpg

Technically this was last week, but I hadn't posted it yet. Before the Bushwhacker door sill armor
1000003970.jpg

After ?

Plenty more to come. Off road bumper, roll up style tonneau cover, sport rack, more skid plates, recovery gear, etc. etc.

I'd like to get a trip in to the mountains before winter but my schedule is getting pretty tight and the weather this time of year going over mountain passes can be sporty, we'll see!

Looks great, I installed the bushwhacker sail protectors a couple years ago very happy with them.
